Can anyone describe or point me to a website which explains how to lock out the Timing Advance on a Distributor Cap? Im not wholly sure if what im asking will make sense (i could of phrased it wrongly) but we'll see.. Any suggestions?

Cheers

why would you want to do this?? is it to keep the timing advanced?

Yeah, i need to lock the timing at a certain Degree of Advance as i would lose control of the timing if i ran Carbs (The ECU and the TPS control timing and these are disconnected if Carbs are fitted).

Thanks

you should be able to do this by disconecting the vacuum advance pipe on the side of the dizzy and just setting it where you want it, not sure if you would need to block off the vacuum nipple or not.

There is a mechanical advance on dizzy's too, not sure about the AE86 though.
