Does anyone no for sure when the fuel cut kicks in, I know someone said before on a previous post it was 19psi. What is it like when it does cut in because sometimes, not always, i'm sure it cuts in because i'm nearly thrown through the wind screen when I put me toe down. It does it more now I've got me Nur spec R fitted. My boost gauge reads 15psi. If it is the fuel cut is it worth having that FCD fitted and will I gain anything else from it?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for any ideas.
Dave.

According to the ND website you need their FCD on boost pressures above 18psi, so it's probably around 18-19psi.

Hitting the fuel cut is like hitting a brick wall, the ecu cuts the fuel so you don't go anywere and you don't melt anything.

How long does this cut out last, cos what is happening on mine lasts about a second. Then carries on as normal.

It is at 19psi - for real!
Don't get an FCD fitted. You're much better off getting it on the rollers and having someone write you a new chip to help the fuelling and move the fuel cut further up.

Far too many mods to list here, it takes up far too much space and after being asked very nicely I've decided to shorten the sig (Is that a WOOHOO I hear??)
I, have NO SMELLY TREE, have no plans for a smelly tree and do not want a smelly tree, EVER!!!
Do not take offence to anything I say, even though I probably mean it. I am more than slightly mad, so just chill de feck oooot, ok!

I think the "fuel cut" response means the ECU basically shuts off the boost, retards the ignition timing, and cuts the fuel. In other cars (probably the 200 too) it sets off a diagnostic code in the ECU as well, until the ECU is reset. That would be one definate way to find out if it is fuel cut.
I believe it is a momentary thing. Once the engine has got the boost level under control it will go back to normal operation.
The bad thing I heard about FCD's is that if you have a boost controller, you can whack the boost up to dangerous levels, and there'll be nothing to stop you (at least till something blows up).
I had an FCD fitted because on cold misty mornings I could cruise along the M4 in 5th gear (70mph).
Drop it into 3rd, floor it, the boost would spike to around the 18-20psi mark as the car pinned me in to the seat.
Suddenly there would be a complete reverse of Gforce .. I would be thrown into the seatbelt accompanied with a "gah" sound from my lungs as it felt like some one had stamped on the breaks.
a mere nano second later the engine would fire again throw me back into the seat and we would be off.
the whole experience lasts less than a second, but at 5000rmp at 70+ mph you know about it, many a time a trapped a "love spud" between my boxers and my leg as I slid foward and then back in the seat.
You should know if it is the fuel cut imediately. ... it hurts.
