What the hell is going on??

OK.... i need help, i'm just going to list the mods that anfyf and i have on our cars....

Me: T28 hybrid, ND boost upgrade, HKS Hiper Muffler, 45000 mile-old engine.

andyf : HKS Hiper Muffler, HKS SQV Blow off valve, KYB shocks and -35mm springs, ND uprated fuel pump....118,000 mile-old engine +bodywork to match....

SO WHY OH WHY IS MY CAR SLIGHTLY SLOWER ON ROLLING RUNS FROM 30MPH AND STANDING STARTS??? this SUCKS!! his gear changes are definately fast but even when i changed well he was moving away at the gear change, and after repeated runs, my engine bay started smelling of FISH!! WHAT THE HELL?? I need answers before i get really mad and go buy something stupid like a metro turbo.... PLEASE HELP!! ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE MORE THAN HELPFUL!!!

i have been told by norris to get an uprated fuel pump after i got the T28, would this, the SQV and suspension make any difference??

OH BY THE BLOODY WAY, THAT SMUG GET, andyf, has told me to say he has just had a rolling road session and got a power figure of 160bhp at the wheels (apparently approx 190bhp at the flywheel)....what does this mean....he may never see the light of day again after this.....

I don't reckon your clutch is up to the job personally. That most likely what that smell of fish is.

hehe.. yer it sounds like a clutch frying. But I would definately look to the fuelling for a problem. Pump and maybe an injector clean.

*Just realised you have a T28
Errm.. you really ought to be kicking ass with a hybridT28 on, Deffo check fuel, clean the AFM, that kinda thing. Im just guessing but shouldnt that be about 250bhp by the rulebook? Unless your intercooler is letting you down on the rolling road and not cooling things off.

well....i dunno what the power is but it was 159bhp when i got the car from a previous owner who dyno'd it....i'll bet it was the clutch actually, it seems to have been frying a lot recently, is that the increased torque from the t28 doing that???

spoke 2 norris and he reckons there is a problem, there must be for andyf's car to beat mine, i have no uprated intercooler what sucks but am looking to get air filter and stage 1 chip soon, uprated fuel pump also.....

is it just me or does anyone else think that u have 2 go pretty much the whole hog when uprating a 200sx, if u uprate one thing, something else always needs sorting as a dirct result....BLOODY HELL!!!

it does seem a little like that at times, although considering the extra power you can get out of the 1.8 lump by simply bolting bits on and uprating certain parts (around 300bhp if im not mistaken)before messing with the internals,

not bad really, pitty i cant afford to buy more than one thing at a time though!

Your cars does sound a little out of sorts. I have read and been told by Hiteq that the standard clutch is very strong. However, have had mine replaced but now should be good for another 60-80000 miles i reckon.I've done 105,000miles. Also have hiper muffler (great sound!), hybrid, super power flow filter, hks fcd, hks air fuel regulator, lowered and stiffened, running just over 1 bar and it flies. Recently kept up with 22B impreza at track day and also holds its own to 120 with a friends modified R33 GTR 360bhp. If your clutch is slipping you are defintely gooing to suffer! hope you sort it

I agree about the mods statement - you seem to have to go the whole hog.

I've got a freeflow exhaust and that's basically it.

Call me soft if you like (actually, I'd rather you didn't http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif) but that's why I've not upgraded anything.

Oh, and there's the money issue, too.

oh I agree with that comment about having to mod EVERYTHING! My brakes are now completely hosed (see post in General Questions about who I should use! please! somebody!) and the engine is making random weird noises, probably just to annoy me.

If the clutch is on the way out, will it show this by slipping? I've been in Matt's car many a time and it doesn't seem to have a slipping clutch at all (whereas mine does at the moment).
