View Full Version : V8 polo
3.6ltr V8 polo .......... at last a sensible car
That will be mental when its finished:thumbs:
Feck! It's in a Mk II as well! :D
I had one of those as my 1st car - it was only a 1.0 though :(
My mate had one with a supercharged golf gti engine
Umm surely their "strutbrace" is going to do precisely **** all as it's holding the turrets stiff not the struts???

You mean a Golf G60 Rallye engine? They came with a supercharger as standard :)
A mate of mine is fitting one of those engines tuned to 200bhp to his Mk I Golf Cabriolet :ghey:

really?? I thought the point was to hold the suspension steady rather than stiffen the shell or am I misunderstanding strut braces?

Forgive my lack of mechanical knowledge... but...
how will they transfer the power to the wheels from the engine, how will they change gear when the gearbox is effectively in the boot, and where will the fans etc etc go to cool the block??
Pics of engine (http://www.polov8.com/strut%20brace.html)

My take on it is that the suspension is connected to that part of the shell anyway so its six and half a dozen.
Dunc.
The engines outta this car:
Audi V8 quattro
built from 1988 to 1994, price was 52k € minimum, circa 21k units sold in total.

Was available as a3.6 with 250hp first, and the later it was a 4.2 with 280hp. Was a bloody nice car for its time, had a lot of nice toys, remote engine start n stuff...
My uncle has one of those, nearly half a million kilometres on the clock and still runnig strong.
