I'm too feckin' hot......

I've got to get up in under 3 hours for work and can't sleep 'cause I'm sweating like a pig:cry:

tomorrow's going to be a looooong day (I'm going to the Winchester meet in the evening too:thumbs: )

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not moaning about the weather it was lovely outside today but surely it's supposed to be a bit coooler at night? I can put up with it when I'm abroad and getting drunk every night but not when I got the prospect of being at work the next day.

i've got a lovely air conditioning unit so its nice and chilly in here all day long. 4 computers running, (one of which has no less than 9 hard disks in and the others all have 3 or 4 in, big ones too so they get warm, so i can justify the use of one.:p

Something is definitely going on. There is no way temperatures should be hitting 36-37 degrees C in Britain. It was only about 26-27 up here yesterday and that was more than enough for me!

I'm on a hunt today to buy a giant fan from somewhere, what made it terrible for me yesterday was the lack of breeze through the house :(

Anybody have any suggestions where to get one from thats decent (recommendations?). Should i got for one of those normal ones on a floor stand that rotate or what about those ones shaped like a short tower?

There is an up side to all this nice weather.

I've had a whole hour of sleep so far and still feel ok. It's still way to hot to sleep so onwards and upwards.

Finished work at 1.30 and just about to leave for the Winchy meet:thumbs:

Tomorrow may be a different story..........

last year i was in dubai for a few months of the year. the winter is usually no lower than 25 (except when there is this wind change / sandstorm thing that happens for a few days a year - shamal i think its calld) but the summer was dreadful.
it gets way up in the high 40's, and hottest day last year there was 51. thing is its unbearable cos the humidity actually hits 100% out there a lot in the summer. so when you go outside you walk around the corner and you are literally dripping wet (oooo er) in seconds with water not sweat. top place tho.

here's a tip to help you sleep at night!

during the day, fold up your bed linen and fold it up into a carrier bag and pop into the fridge or freezer.

Then at night, put your sheets back on the bed and yipee!! They're cold and so are you!

stand in the bath and run the cold tap (plug in, or heel over the plug hole) stay there for about 10 minutes as the water gets up to your calfs, because heat rises, all the heat in your body leaves thru your head, then go to bed, works for me, also if you have a loft access upstairs then remove the cover to alow the hot air in the house to rise into the loft :D :D :D (cos the loft insulation keeps the house too hot in the summer)

I'll give these a try.

Just got back from Winchester and feeling really tired now:sleep:

If I can't nod off I'll give the bath thing a go (cheers Tim:thumbs: )

And my spare sheets are going in the freezer as we speak for tomorrow:notworthy: (Cheers Nic)

Alg;)
