This is the deal. I have a Toyota Starlet GT Turbo (Import 1993 EP82) and its a cracker. I know its a quicker than a CA18DET Powered 200SX after an encounter, but i dont want a 200 for that.

Should i swap my EP82 for an RPS13 (probably a 93 facelift)?

Also, does the 93 have the CA or the SR?

Thanks

Paz

Hi there,

All S13's have the CA engine in them, only in Japan ands Austrailia you get the S13 with the SR engine. Is your Corrola FWD? because if it is then its a whole new world to you if you swap to a 200sx.......powerslides!, plus its easy to make them faster.

Are you trying to be funny? Damn http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif its a Starlet GT Turbo! Heheh! But yes, FF is the layout and FR is the reason i want a 200...

I have considered the AE86 Toyota Corolla GT Coupe (You know the old rusty RWD one, thats a legend in Japan) but they are too hard to find...

Thanks

Pazza, I see from your profile that you're into drifting. I didn't think there was much of a drift scene over here, where abouts do you race?

If that's what you want the 200 for (and I assume it is) then I reckon its a pretty good choice. Cheap to buy, easy to modify and quite tail happy.

Pazza, if you're interested in the RPS13 specifically it was released in '91 with the SR engine and is a Japan only car. It had a minor facelift in '94 (or could have been end of '93?). In '94 the model designation also changed so you had a Type S (base model with N/A engine), Type R (base model with Turbo engine) and the Type X which is the luxury turbo model with leather etc. Previous models were designated Type I, II, & III.

A major facelift was carried out in '96 when it had a new front and rear, including circular tail lights.

You can pick up a nice AE86 at auction in Japan but they are not particularly cheap for their age - I saw them going for around Y500,000 which is a lot for a 15 year old car. 180's are also in demand with drifting enthusiasts and the Australian export market, so there are few bargains around. Look at about Y700,000 for a '94 model and you probably won't see a 96+ car for under a million.

Thanks Guys...

Oh, and Ben, thats exactly what my Starlet looks like. As far as ive been able to gather there are Zero Drifters in this country... Or this was my Impression anyway, but i believe i have stubled on a UK Drift Club, but more news as i find out more. Do you like the whole Drift/Touge Scene? And do you do it yourself?

That is why i want a 200...

Oh and my Starlet is fair quick. Ive beaten a 200 like before (Not on top speed though, but we didnt get out of 4th) and off the blocks its **** fast. A boosted Starlet can hang with a WRX of the blocks... Zero wieght + 180hp = quick acceleration.

Hi Pazza and welcome to the site!

I know a guy thats building a 600 bhp S13 200sx with the SR20 engine. Saw it at TDI a couple of years back - looked awesome.
His name is KeeKee (or Nana) from Option Motorsport based at Silverstone, nt far from Jordan no less.
It has had an absolute HEAP of money thrown at it, all Japanese stuff too.
He's building it as a drift car as well.
Apparently he's rather nifty with a steering wheel too. A mate saw him driving a Civic Jordan at Silverstone (I think), all over the back of a Porsche 911!
Hes also got an R33 running over 900 bhp revving to 10,500rpm and is building an Integra which should make 300 bhp N/A and rev to 133,500rpm.
Gonna try and pop in to see him this week on my travels - working Northampton/Rugby way (1700 miles in the C/Car last week, Mon-Fri - lots of opportunity to "go places", Racelogic to get my gauges on Monday and Aylesbury to pick up some R33 seats on Thursday - very nice they are too, just need to get subframes for them as the owner had taken them off these to fit some Sparco race jobbies. His car is at Abbey's getting loads of cash thrown at it - 1000 horses with Nitrous and 6 speed sequential box too! Drives a Porsche Boxster as his runabout! some people have TOO much money me thinks!

Sorry, the Type R will rev to 13,500 - not 133,500 as stated above! Wow - that would be something wouldn't it???!

I know Kiki..

Hes tuning my EP82 up in a few months and suppling all of the parts for it. My Exhaust is on delivery, he has my actuator etc and were just waiting for the Muffler to arrive and he should be having it in to start work. I wanna go down to see all of his stuff, but i thought that it was a Green S14 that he was working on? I know he has one.

Anyways, thats another part of the dilema, ive got tunning parts on the way for my Starlet and if i sell it then im gonna have to flog this at a loss... I think ill wait untill its tuned and then see if i still feel restless...

Hes having my Starlet in as a Development car! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

Paz, would you be thinking of getting a UK model or an import, could some of the guys on velocity source you one with the spec you want? http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif

Im sure one guy in particular could get me whatever i wanted (hes on Velocity sometimes, but i know him due to Starlets) but i could do with a UK spec one really due to the insurance factor...

I would have a sorted S13 Silvia if i could have an import... http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif
