Out of interest is there anyone that enjoys a round of Golf  If so how good are you? I've been playing on and off the last 3 years but really getting into it this year :D

Maybe if theres some interest we could arrange a SXOC society day

I played my 1st game ever a couple of weeks ago - it was great, really loved it. Only did an easy 3 par 18 hole course - managed to get one hold on par, which I was quite pleased with :)

I tried it a while ago with the lad that lives at mine, though he's dead good. Handicap of 5 so I felt a prat! It soon became clear after one hole that I wasn't destined to play golf :D :annoyed: :D

Si :)

you have to stick with it Si, too many people play one round and then say 'no cant play' its a hard game to master but well worth it IMO

I've been on the Pitch and Putt and driving ranges a few times....
Not quite ready for 18 hole I think.

My dad used to play scratch golf:thumbs:

I got fed up with being dragged around golf courses as a kid:(

Don't mind a few pitch and putt jobbies but full on round just ends up pissing me off:mad:

Much prefer the 19th hole myself:thumbs:

I have played for about 13 years now. If I played regularly I could probably be pretty good, as it is I usually shoot in the 80s now.

Edit to make that I can(t) type

I've had many lessons, but haven't touched the clubs for over a year and have never been out on a course for some reason

I know (from my few games of minigolf lol) that I can't putt to save my life, but might be a good crack to get out and give it a go :)

love golf. been playing it since i was 15. dont get much free time so i mainly hit the driving ranges these days, but i had a round in february and still played fairly well.
would be great having a SXOC golf tournament / get-together some day.
also very partial to snooker if anyone plays that. like chess too.
and try and get a few days shooting in a year.
god i sound so sad here. i best shut up.
LoL

Should be going for a game later. :D

I've been playing a year or so now, going usually every week if the weather is good (don't do rain!!) Best I've had is 42 on a 9 hole, I was well pleased with that. If only I could putt......

Thought I'd resurrect this one rather than start a new one.

Played my first round ever on Saturday following a quick practice 9 on Friday. First time ever other than on 9-hole p&p 16 years ago.

Quite pleased with a natural bogey on a par 3 (net par). Other than that a pretty painful time but one or two nice shots.

Not pleased with being given a 32 hcap rather than the 36 my mate with many more rounds experience got purely on the basis of looking like I had a reasonable swing

Quite pleased to have had the honour of the SLAGS 2004 wooden spoon tho. :D

Now fully addicted and researching the options in the area. 35 courses within 30 miles can't be bad

Will post humiliating photos and vids once they're up there.

A few of my mates play regularly on a local championship course. One of them has been staedily improving and hit a round of 84 a few weeks back  I think he said he had a handicap of 16.

Ive got into it through playing Tiger woods on the x-box

Am definately up for it though if it progresses any further

On Saturday the Becks was out of the bag by the 4th hole, before midday. *hic*

The joobie count was immense as well, 12 between 3 of us for the round

Mind you, this sort of behaviour is almost compulsary for SLAGS

I thought Id leave the doobage out, but yes, we wait until we are out of sight of the crowd that is ALWAYS there to watch you tee off, and then crack open the Stellas and spark up the prerolleds :wack:

Its not unusual for members of our group to drop out on the 13/14/15th due to being unable to stand up/see straight

Next time you go, get a cart - wicked fun, and somewhere to leave your beer/peice another together
