Water or fuel, which is lighter?

Curious question but it's to do with that Lotus again :D

It's got 2 tanks and you need to fill them up seperately. We were just talking about weight distribution side to side and wondered if fuel weighs 1kg per litre the same as water??

Any theories?

Specific gravity of fuel is about 0.71, distilled water is obviously 1.0.
