A red G plate BMW E30 316i LUX 102bhp 95bhp/ton beast.

Factory fully colour coded sideskirts, front spliter, wing mirrors, boot spoiler, cross spoke wheels, PAS, leccy mirros, sunroof, 83k, 10month MOT, engine bay looks immaculate like shinier than the nissan, interior pretty damn nice too. oh and it's been de 316i badged LOL. £600.

Looks exactly like a 318is.

only bad stuff is the thing was broken in to shagging the lock and the stereo surround, has a blowing zorst and the mirror glass is smashed on the passenger side.
All these bits i have on my old E30. :)

looks exactly like this only RHD. :)

well for me with 0NCB (cos that's on the S13 policy) 1 conviction SP50, I accident  30years old, average ish Post code (IE shit) it's about £670 TPFT, what a joke.

My fully declared mods and power upto 350bhp S13 only costs a bit more than that.

it's costing my missus with 0NCB and a claim, and provisional license £600 with me as a named driver.

Jezz - get a second car policy and get the brokers to mirror your bonus from the s13.

Erm, it's shagged.
the rad's crap, it's tatty, I crashed it, suspension all over the place, terrible to drive, carb only.
I'm prolly gonna break some bits off the old one then scrap it.
Mmmm what ratio is the LSD? because of the iddybiddy engine the ratio is something like 4.4:1 on the 316i, so if I get an LSD it I could do with being closeish to that.

Another prob is that it's the missus' really, but she cant drive (hopefully she'll learn now), but it means I can't really mod it that much.
Wanna drop it, get some 325 brakes on it, ind kit, cam, LSD.
Oh and my spare T28 and mongoose LOL, cant see that happening though, she'd do her nut :(

Does that have to be done through the same insurer?
Problem is it is really my missus car, and as she is learning (not that that really makes a difference) there is no fecking way she is driving on my insurance. :)
I'll do that when I get my 735i though. :)

TBH i don't know what ratio the diff is, but it's off a 325i M Sport :)
Just want to get rid of the unpredictability off the 320i slippy-diff :(

no not necessarily with the same insurer - can be done with other companies at their discretion, you will just need a letter from your current insurers to state that you have had no incidents giving rise to claim.

Either that or, ah hem, get a company letter from your, ah hem, employers that mysteriously went bankrupt after you drove a company car for them for 5years+ ;)

Oh well, at least it's the right colour....

Bit cheaper than the 4k I paid for the Scooby that Babs still hasn't had a single lesson for since Christmas (note: "for" and not "in" ie. she can go and learn clutch control on something I don't have to fix! :smitten:  )

LOL yeah.

Just as a teaser to myself I had a look at how much a 735i would be to insure with full NCB and to my horror discovered that BMW never made any manual 735i's. My hopes and dreams are shattered, I don't wanna slush box. :(:(
I guess most 735 owners are lazy fat basts that don't want to thrash them around twisties etc, but I do. :(

LOL they are very old, that was the second RR I ever did with a pretty std car power figures are at the wheels on the graph. :)
I'm running about 330 (fly) now with a very un-standard car. As soon as I get a manifold and get the Apexi N1 out of the lounge and onto the car I should be looking at 380. :)

here is roughly my spec, it may have changed a bit since then...

dont tell em you want a 3 month policy - just run it 3 months and then tell em you want to do a sub of vehicle to something completely uninsurable like a modified skyline or sommat - then they cancel pro-rata ;)

It's the std CA18DET 1.8 Twin Cam.
Yeah I'm looking for an equal length tubular manifold, waiting for Bren to get some made. they are easily available for the SR20 for about £200-250 but no one makes cheap CA18DET ones yet. they are available but you are looking at £800 which TBH I'm not interested in paying.
the std CA18 manifold can't flow more than 330bhp and even by then it's not doing the EGT's any favours what so ever.

a friend of mine running a Silvia managed to get some distructions off the net somewhere for exactly this, ever thought about having a go yourself? or have someone weld it up for you? The construction itself looks simple enough, just flow characteristics maybe not as good as the real deal.

oh, also hes thinking of swapping the DOHC head onto his SOHC block but is running into some problems with the dizzy, he aint got the proper one which has the outputs for 8HT leads and was wondering if mating 2 lead to one plug (like a Y splitter) was a safe thing to do.

Mmm I don't really know anything about the 8v head TBH, the S13 uses seperate coil packs for each plug, the bottom end is quite similar though, the block is the same.
Surely his best bet would be to just transfer the complete S13 ECU etc over, or buy a spares or repair S13 for £2-300 and swap the whole lot. The crank, injectors, rods, head are all better on the CA18DET out of the S13.

Manifold...
Steve (stainless steve LOL) keeps talking about having a go at one but he's not sure if he can get the flange plates cut, 10-12mm stainless isn't very easy to cut LOL and not many places that do lazer cutting can do it either. Also numbers is an issue, places are not likely to just want to cut 1 or 2 flanges, they will want to do 10 off's as the setting up time costs ££££s. :(
He reckons the tubing will be easy though.

Bren is hoping to get a proper one and have it copied in the states by the people that make his SR20 ones. Wish he'd hurry.

P11GT
14-08-2003, 13:09
unfortunately, i think my mates too cheap to do all that! LOL
I understand what you mean about the flanges, im lucky to have a good friend that makes all my stuuf, its in his line of work. Do you not know anyone pally who can do that for you?
Heres one he made for me............ didnt cost me a penny!

Oh nice. :)
I'm assume there is a turbo flange on the underside?

Maybe your mate could hook up with Steve, as a business arrangement of course, not freebies. :)

Is the flange stainless & how thick is it?

P11GT
14-08-2003, 13:43
yeah, the who lots is stainless, the flange is 10mm thick if i remember correctly. the pic you see there is half way finished, it was for me to test fit. If you just want the flanges, i can always ask if hes interested in doing it and how much he would charge. I say i get mine free but really i pay him with FOOD! helps if you run a chinese takeaway;) He only really get time to do this stuff when hes not working or making iron gates (those flashy jobbies with all them curles and shit) that is what he make his cash in.

If we do proceed, all i need is the gaskets for each flange, he'll copy and plasma cut them and prolly polish them up too.

Sorry for hijacking the thread guys, Jezz PM me and we take it from there. Let you know when i hear back, but let me know if you want them and how many of which flange.

Jezz_S13
14-08-2003, 13:56
LOL it's my thread anyway.

I have a word with Steve (he may be on hols at the minute, I've not spoke to him for a while) to see if he's interested in doing it, if so I'll PM you. Initially I suppose just 1 of each would be required to see if steve can actually do it. He seems to think he can, and he usually can if he says he can.
Cheers Kev. :)
