View Full Version : Le Mans 2012 16th & 17th June
Date has been set for next year :D
It's the 80th race so it should be a pretty epic year
Le Man's 2012 (http://www.lemans.org/en/races/24h/update/The_80th_Le_Mans_24_Hours_will_take_place_on_16%E2 %88%9217_June_2012_4789.html)
Time to start organising stuff I guess........
Never done this before but really fancy it. Have a few questions though.
I have a camper and would be on my way back from holiday with the other half and young family. Would it be suitable or them, ie where does everyone camp and which campsite do you use. Is it always rowdy on the site or does it quieten down so my 3 year old would get some sleep (as well as me}.

You dont wanna go with the SXOC then. :wack:
We camp in the noisy section and we get told off by others for being too loud...

Read this - http://www.beermountain.com/
I stayed in Houx, and it was a busy campsite but not too loud in the evenings. We had, decent toilets and showers with hot water, electricity on site aswell.
The SXOC stayed in Karting Nord and that's the noisy one lol.
whats a good guide for costs for this.
it would be myself and my G/F in the Focus.

I went with MaccyD in my car and I think All in was no more than about £300 each, and that covered everything, petrol, camping, tickets, food etc.

Pretty sure I asking this last year... and it turned out to be a male only trip?
If the S15 is having a working couple of days around this point I'd love to go :)

The SXOC event is a boys only weekend.

In short no... the campsites close to the track are always rowdy, threads on Pistonheads complaining about the chavs will give you a good idea. That said you could stay at a campsite further out from Le Mans and drive in. You could just purchase a green parking ticket for example, meaning you can park in certain areas around the track and go for a wonder. Another thought is the classic is on next year (month later/held every two years) and the atmosphere is much more gentleman racer than boyracer.

You offering? :D

Some big foreign bloke did come over at 5.30am last year shouting and getting in our faces because of the loud drum and bass we were playing, Luckily JC got raged and came flying out his tent sending the bloke running off and tripping over hundreds of beer bottles :wack:
Where we stay Its barely acceptable for lads, let alone females and kids :smash:
Im not sure how we can be there a week and not catch ebola.

I think Alcohol and crap food must make us immune?
Though I did feel like death for a week after last time, Probably as I didnt get a hangover till the day we left, then it rolled into one 5 day hangover
This, or IOM/TT, this, or IOM/TT, or both :D

I just bag it and bin it and carry on :D
I find drowning everything in alcohol stops any chance of food poisoning :D
I'd be up for this is i can get time off work, being close to the TT could be an issue. Time to give the boss a sucky sucky and see how i go!!! :D
