Whilst im getting on with the project I fancied another old barge to pimp about in. Next step is to Matt black the whole thing and slam it. Wheels lined up too

Its a 450 banger, with chrome arches. If it was a nice clean low miler then i wouldn't touch it.
Got some XJR wheels to go on too.
Having said all this, i will de-chrome it first and decide then whether black is a 100% yes
Yer just a basic, No Sovereign or anything.
Has a special upgrade. When you start it every morning it releases a blue cloud out the exhaust to let you know it's running, which I thought was a nice touch.
dont mat black it unless its done properly, itll look terrible even if it is a shitter.
it would look good in gloss black all bling though and leave the chrome, would look quite good against the black

Im not taking a decent car and making it look shitty. Would you drive round in a jag with chrome arches? (I am not taking them off, god knows what it will reveal)
The cars already shitty, and there isn't any chance of me spending money improving it. Was on a recent Paris to Barcelona charity rally and there was one there and it did look quite good. Granted it was painted well
Matt black paint only cost me £10 for 8 cans
At the very least the chrome is going, Ill do that first and then put some pictures up, besides 8 cans wont be enough for the whole car.

Take the chrome arches off, if it looks shite underneath, put them back on...
Matt black is well overdone and will look gash. If you're going to do it, at least matt brown it or something a bit more original.
We owned one of these for a while, they're much good fun. We did a PPC autotest in ours :wack:
Doing autotest in a barge with Ride of the Valkeries blasting out of the wood panelling FTW :D

its a £450 car so spending cash on it defeats the point of buying a cheap jaaaaaaaaaaag,i say do it how you want its your whip homie lol,matt black slammed and xjr rims will look badass!! ( do the rims gloss black maybe??) and side exit exhausts ftw :)

Got me thinking now..........
However the idea of not spending money on it, is slowly deminishing
You can get all sorts of different colours dude - I have battleship grey, powder blue and baby pink in my garage at the moment - all matt. :D
I'd quite like to see it in matt brown, like a nod to the 70s :wack:

Matt Black seems a bit of a waste really, sure it's not an amazing car but a Jag in Matt Black? Would look very strange.
Wonder what it would look like if you kept the chrome and put chrome wheels on it?
Just done a bit of de-chroming and fitted a sport grill we had lying about. Also got a number plate plinth for the back to fit

Can bring myself to paint the body now. It really is clean and shame to ruin it. Find myself getting attached to the bloody thing now. Still painted the hideous arches, and I am tempted to slap on some XJR wheels. Painted the interior wood too, it was hideous

i wouldve matt blacked the body and left the chrome chrome then dropped it on the floor, still i can see your reasons for not wanting to paint her up, does look tidy.

Drop it to within a few mm of it's life.
Gone and done it. Wheels are on, wheel bearing nipped up too. I lost the shite arches and it revealed mint arches underneath, well pleased

Couple of reasons
Bonnet was worst part of the car, engine is showing signs of blue smoke, and kicks off when cold. I can't re sell it without spending money so just goign to piss about with it. Im yet to spend more than £500 including car so it's just a bit of fun

Who in there right mind would spend money having a 130k mile 3.2 and get it rebuilt with new valve stem seals, fix the weep in the front block, replace the exhaust system which is blowing, relay the interior carpet which is currently just strips from someones house carpet. It makes no sense to spend money keeping this car going when it wont be worth anything more afterwards.
It's a bit of fun. Like I said if the mileage was half what it was and the interior wasnt wrecked from 20 years of smoking and a black headlining then I'd leave it, I'm not stupid.
Ill own it until the engine expires, might give it fresh oil, and then weigh it in
if you are gonna drive a car into the ground, you dont do anything with it.

It won't be any worse than Matt blacking an s body IMO. And that gets done all the time with less abuse. It'll look better than that gay blue I recon. And as you say. It's got a fooked engine anyway so only worth scrap value.
Kinda changed my mind a little after looking at the blue a little more. It really is horrid lol. I'd still prefer gloss black but then it'll only look good if done properly with a gun.
Tell you what though. It'll look a **** load better than some of this sticker bomb bull shit that I keep seeing.

Though I always had to deal with people trying to convine me that painting my car grey matt would ruin it.
Maybe they were right, but as hard as I try, it doesnt bother me.
