exactly how grim will the Billing weekend be if it does rain? I'm not in the least bit a fair weather person but I've also never been to a 'show and shine' car show before so I was just wondering. Is it likely that if (IF) it does rain, we're all gonna still be to hang around the stand together? Thanks, Sandy

If it rains, and we do all get wet, then theres not excuse for EVERYONE to go in the lake :D :D

TBH though, I recon everyone will just get drunk, and not notice the rain :)

Well that's kinda what I was hoping :D I'll be okay if it rains but don't forget I'm tagging along with a particularly nesh Guy from the North West who's spirits may well be dampened by a little bit of rain. I couldn't be mates with a more robust (Yorkshire) 2***** owner...oh no...;)

Cheers Stuy

He soooooo is:D but I'm actually thinking that he's more concerned that rain will mean being holed up in a pup tent with me for longer :D :p It's highly unlikely that we'll even survive the drive down there...defo more Will and Grace than Harry and Sally this particular combo

I'm going for this approach, but being from Scotland I'm used to it :( My smurf blue skin will keep me dry.

If it gets really bad we could just go to the camping area and move from one (large) tent/gazebo to the other with a drink in one hand and a brolly in the other :D

I've bought a gazebo and a few other have too, perhaps we can pitch them together and make a big undercover area for everyone to sit.

I'm not cheffing that barbecue in the feckin rain though I can tell you, chefs hat or not ;)

Wak, fab idea about pitching the gazebos together...they'll form an SXOC marquee no less. I've got a 4 man frame tent which is HUGE but I've loaned it to a friend who's using it in the Lakes as we speak :( - it would've been better to bring along than my pup tent I'm thinking. Ah well.

Gonna work on Si T today to say 'yay' to going rain or shine. Enough with the dithering. Men! :D ;)

Forecast says light rain for Fri and Sat, sunny for Sunday but that's todays forecast. I've been checking the forecast all week and it changes every day! Since when could weather forecasters get the weather right anyway?

You'd be better off trusting someone who knows nothing whatsoever about the weather to give the weekend forecast....... like me! And I say it'll be sunny all weekend. Thats it sorted then :)

I'm sure Steve Carter or someone posted that the weather's been great the past 6 years so them's good odds I reckon.

Smurf-Duncy, I think we're missing the whole 'petrol head' thang somewhat...so far we think a marquee and a hammock are a fab idea :D

Can't wait. I'll have to make up some kind of make-shift coat tied together hammock to live up to my "smurf on hammock" reputation though........ Don't want to disappoint the people!

SandyP

Now Dunc I'm sure you could never disappoint;) (and Billing is like a day away...I really am gonna stop with this sauciness anytime now :D )

LMAO :D It may be an idea to fit him with a tracker device or if that seems a little modern, high-tec and frankly extravagent, a collar with bells seems to work

I'm not to botherd, it never realy continuasly rains all day in july anyway. a few showers never hurt anyone.

We had a few showers here this morning and now it's mainly sunny with broken cloud and 27.6 degrees, they reakond it would be heavy rain at the begining of the week

[harry enfield] Yoooooo don't wanna do it like that [/harry enfield]

Tip from past experience. If you pitch gazebos together, each one forms a rain channel where they join in the middle. Invest in duct tape and plastic bags to fix it, but the tape will never come off cleanly.
