View Full Version : Hungry ***** BBQ - How to get your food cooked...

Just want to set out what has finally been decided for how food will be cooked on the BBQ.

We will have a set of cool boxes where we can store meat. I will be buying a load of bags with labels on the front and a few pens.

At the back of the BBQ there will be a marked out area where only the BBQ chefs (identified by their groovy hats) will be allowed. The cool boxes will be located within this area. At night the area will be marked out by slow burning candles :)

You bring your food, you show your SXOC club membership card and state your name/nickname. If you want it cooking there and then the chef will put it on the grill. If there is no space or you just want us to store it for a while we will remove the packaging and bag it. Label the bag and in a coolbox it goes. Only the chefs are responsible for getting food from the cool boxes and cooking it. I dont want any arguments.

Once it's on the grill, wait for it to be cooked (if you are lucky it might not get burnt to cinders!!) and then we will provide rolls/bread and sauces/salad to finish.

There are two seats at the front of the BBQ which people may use to sit on whilst waiting for food or eating it. Dont mess about making the BBQ move all over the place or i'll be stuffing hot coals down ya trousers/skirt :D

I would prefer if people didn't bring raw chicken. This is the most common BBQ food to give people food poisoning. I'll happilly cook it but it will take a while as I cook it over less heat and ensure it's all cooked through.

Any questions?

yeager,

This BBQ is getting more and more organised by the day (I'm beginning to think it's a Government run conspiracy:rolleyes: )

I was going to bring meat (burgers sausages etc) for a few people so if anyone forgot/ran out there was extra to go around.

I'm going to a Tesco Extra tonight. Is there anything you want/need for the BBQ?

Alg;)

some of that spray oil would be nice... sunflower oil or olive oil, keep the grill clean and oiled.

I'm sure it's not going to be too Hitler on the membership front, but if there is a lot of interest it's going to be the only way we can control whats going on. I would MUCH prefer it if people brought their ID's with them. I keep mine in the car at all times :):D

I don't mind having a go if needed :)

Show me a man who doesn't like cooking on a BBQ!

You might be better just having the current chef saying he's had enough and asking for volunteers to take over the hat. When peeps have had a beer or two they'll have a go

I have 6 hats :) and 4 more that need the logos sticking on, so we have a potential of 10 cooks!!! (NOT all at the same time) but would make for an interesting photo :)

Still in there for it - very irregular net access means I havent been here for a while, but I will be on form for Billing. With a selection of very sharp knives, which will double as protection against lake dipping incidents :wak: :wak:

This is the first I've opened a Hungry Hundie thread so had no idea what it was all about. I'd just like to say that its the best thing ever.

Ever.

Right,

I've got 2x 200ml vegatable oil sprays.

The only problem is that they're aerosol and it says on the can 'Do not spray on naked flame or incandescent material'

I was trying to get a gun operated spray oil but they didn't have any. And that was supposed to be the biggest Tesco for miles:mad:

Will 400ml be enough? and is aerosol going to be OK?

Alg;)
