AS the last time I went camping was 40+ years ago, the list of gear that I will be bringing is as follows: -

Tent
Sleeping bag
Air bed
Kettle
Gas fire/lamp
Fridge (holds 18 440ml cans :D )

Apart from coffee, sugar and milk is there anything else that I should bring with me?

Apart from the charcoal for the barbie of course. Already got 34 Kilos how much more do you think we'll need?

Hammer is a must. Went to a music festival a few years ago, I must have been the only person out of 50,000+ to take a hammer! Don't think I ever got that back....

Don't forget the matches for the lamp either...;)

I went to Donington a few years ago for the Monsters of Rock Festival.... forgot to take everything except the beer, the tent and the sleeping bag.

Fortunately we went in a brand new rental VW polo. We ripped out the screen washer hoses so we could siphon some petrol to get a fire started... then proceeded to mangle the jack by using it to bash the tent pegs in. :D

Ditch the air bed to make room for more beer :D

A deckchair might be a good idea, so would waterproofs and a brolly looking at the weather forecast :rolleyes:

Your advice is greatly appreciated. Seeing as I don't drink, more beer is not on my agenda, sorry. But as the car will be full of sacks of charcoal what would you rather have? Heat or booze.

Uh-oh. Seeing this is just making me think that i am really under-prepared... :eek: :eek: :eek: Err, i have a sleeping bag. Somewhere.

Oh, and will have plenty beers. Ah yes, the beers. Phew. Everything will be fine. :)

Sod the food mate. Thats what burger vans are for. :D

That way you can free up more space for the essentials. (Stella, Carling, Heineken, ahem... Armbands... ahem... ;) :) )
