Folks, I'd like your opinions/experiences/recommendations of the different gearbox additives, Slick 50, Molyslip etc.

The mad micra scrabble wagon has just destroyed it's first gearbox. It's been replaced with another standard box for the time being until I can get the original rebuilt to be bullet proof. So to prolong the life of this new gearbox (and not end up driving everywhere like a normal Micra driver), is it worth me sticking a can of this stuff in there aswell?

Oh, and the box has an aftermarket AP Suretrak LSD installed, will that make a difference?

Ta much,

John

Do an extremely good gearbox oil.

Jordan use them for their F1 cars...

See jez at EJ Performance, he sells the stuff.

Cheers kirky :) ,

I think it's been filled with 75/90 semi synthetic race oil (it's been done by a motorsport place). Just wondering if it's worth sticking a PTFE additive in aswell?

Wish I could help, but on a technical level I cant. Just know the royalpurple stuff is the daddy..

Give jez a call and i'm sure he'll be able to explain everything.

Sorry dude,

Kirky.

Just been to Halfords and read the blurb on all the boxes and.....

.....not suitable for limited slip differentials.

So that's that then. Looks like very regular oil changes with decent oil is the only option.

thanks kirky:)
