View Full Version : quick question about MSA spec roll cages
looking at getting an apex roll cage for my s14a which i plan to start racing at some point. now I've checked the blue book and all looks good, just wondering if cages for racing need to have a certificate (alla FIA cages) or do they get checked when the car does?
cheers for any help
hi there we have a apex cage in our s14a bdc car its up to fia spec and was checked at rd1
they do go through the dash on the s14a unlike my skyline it comes down infront of the dash
hope that helps

bdc scrutineering isnt reaaly comparable to propper racing. they might well ask you to prove what it is made of but ive never seen a propper certificate for a roll cage.
well i'm going for the apex one, think as long as the welds look alright then it'll be fine, it's made out of the right spec material so the only thing, as mentioned, would be that i migth need to prove what the material is.

If it's to the designs in the blue book, it doesn't need a certificate.
If it doesn't conform to the standard designs, it does need a certificate.
