Chat program was very slow.. so just loaded another... not quite as pretty, but this should hopefully be a lot quicker!!

sorry! trying to make the chat room useable, and buggered it up!

Ill have a new chat room going up later on today... Fast and Pretty!! just having a little bit of a mission at the mo getting all the bastid php modues to run properly... :)

Right... the third incarnation of the chatroom is up!!

at the moment i have a bit of a bug, which hides the navigation buttons if you register your name, but if you dont register it appears...hope to sort it out tomorrow...

for you smiley fans... there are 218 :D

and there is a status button that you can add to your sig, to show if your in the charoom :)

Doh, no-one there.

Annoying thing is that it logs you out after 3 mins! Is it possible to get a Java one going?

If you just close the chatroom window rather than logging out if you return in a few minutes your still there though can't sign in on the same name.

i could probably do a java one on my site if nees be. its a site for my direct connect hub (p2p network file sharing piracy haven type thing) and site is going up next week hopefully. i have 700mb of space bought and not even gonna be scratching the surface with it so if you guys need a programmer or some of his space i would be more than happy to lend a hand. or you can all just go and get direct connect and use my hub as a chatroom as thats all it is really. means you can share files and stuff too. :thumbs: ;) or just take all mine. lol

Just made a couple of minor revisions to the chatroom...

The port the chatroom runs on now changed to something that 'shouldnt' be blocked by most firewalls... :)

registering users now works properly, and you can upload an avitar, send offline and private messages, and stuff...

the url is

www.matt-payne.com/chat

and now a button to include in your SXOC sig to show if your logged into chat :)

Green means your in chat, and red means your not! :)

I seriously can't belive it! wow!
U may have seen me around in UT as Desire, or Dessy_moo, i always play as a cow :)

Haha cool... you should've recognised my nickname really - chances of someone else using it are pretty extreme :rolleyes:

As for the rest of you, we have the channel now, download mIRC (http://ftp.newnet.co.uk/pub/mirrors/mirc/mirc61.exe) and get on a quakenet server (not a US one tho unless you are actually in the US cos otherwise they reject the connection). An optional extra download for the slightly more experienced IRC user is NoNameScript (http://www.nnscript.de) which is, IMHO, an extremely good mIRC script - makes the whole look and feel of mIRC so much better and adds shed-loads of extra features.

Once we get a few people in there I can get a bot in there which will mean the channel cannot be stolen if I go offline for any reason :nod:

to take you to the sxoc channel I'm holding. Instructions for use are: copy the text and paste into the Run dialogue box (Start --> Run) If you are already connected to a quakenet server it'll ask you what to do, just say join on the current server. If you're in you'll see me and Pauly_Boy (he's logged in as Dessy_Moo) in the user list on the right :)

If you get a Page cannot be displayed error, try selecting a different chat type from the drop down box on the log on screen... :)

Come on guys, lets get this IRC chatroom going properly. People keep popping in but as there's only usually me and Pauly_Boy there they just leave. If people stick around and say hi then I can see it kicking off nicely :nod:

Get yourselves an IRC client installed like this one (click here) (http://www.mirc.com) then follow the instructions below:

to take you to the sxoc channel I'm holding. Instructions for use are: copy the line of italic text above and paste into the Run dialogue box (Start --> Run) If you've done it right you'll see me and Pauly_Boy (he's logged in as Dessy_Moo) and whoever else is around in the user list on the right :) One thing to note: the user called "L" is a bot so you won't get much sense outta it :p
