View Full Version : Ruby wedding present ideas... PLEASE
It's my folks Ruby wedding anniversary a week on Sunday and we're totally stumped as to what to get them. As usual my parents were very helpful with ideas "You don't have to get us anything"
Any sensible ideas for something anniversary specific or otherwise would be genuinely appreciated.
Easy!! Take em for a <a href="http://rubymurray.org/curry.shtml">Ruby</a> :)

I can get you some Viagra.
That should temporarily put a smile back on their faces.
How did I know I'd never get any sense out of you lot  :wack:
Seriously we're in a jam cos we can't get em nothing and we haven't got a clue. :( :(

how much you wanna spend?
Ratners money or Harvey Nic's money
how's about a free trip to france to stay with relatives?;)
seriously tho - get them a day out somewhere, with a meal, a show and a good drink all planned out..

That's the problem. If i could do that I'd be sorted but the missus's brother is getting married in the south of France the day before so we're having to fly back don't get into heathrow until 8.30 then by the time we get home it'll be lunchtime and in no fit state to do antyhing till the evening. (I'm also trying to persuade the missus that spending a couple of hours at billing on our way back from Heathrow will be a good idea :D)
Jezz: somewhere in between but I'm getting to the state whe're I'll pay whatever it takes just out of desparation.

click on that link and then click on the "Groups" icon, it's surprising how much information can be found from people that have asked the same question before.

Isn't it traditional to give whatever the anniversary is? Buy them a ruby each.
As I suggested earlier, go for a Ruby (http://www.geocities.com/robainsley2/eikoku/35.html)

We don't all earn the kind of money you get on the fairgrounds mate :( :p

what about a really nice bottle of ruby port ?
For a real surprise, don't do anything until the day after - they'll never expect that.
What sort of stuff are they into?
I would suggest an "event" of some kind rather than a present... ie experience not ornament...
just my thoughts...

I'd love to see the look on my dad's face if I got them that. Considering he suffers from dreadful virtigo, I reckon it would be a cracking way for me to inherit early :D :D

sorry perhaps not such a good idea!!
