View Full Version : Strange sound from engine
As the previous thread went slightly off topic I thought I'd try again.
Is it anything to be concerned about please folks?
Now look what you've started.
I wouldn't have thought so. My mitsi engine was tight as for about a month after the reseal and made a different noise.

That's what I'm hoping. Will see how it goes for a few days before I do anything I think and see if it rides up with wear.
The belts might be tensioned tighter/looser to cause a different noise I suppose. I must admit I've never heard any engine I worked on sound different after I finished though. Except where it sounded broken prior to me working on it of course :D
Is it far to take it back to the garage that did it and ask them if it sounds ok? Or perhaps a second opinion from another garage may be worth while, most will have a listen for free I reckon :)
It's hard knowing with noises unless you can hear them :o
Took it for a run to Sainsburys tonight. When I got back with my shopping there was a fookin flood under the car
Upon closer inspection the hose to what I believe is the heater matrix appears to be split where the tightening clip is.
I shall take a bit of time off tomorrow morning to explain to the place that did the work just how unimpressed I am and impress upon them the need to get things right when they do a job. (Well I might be a it more diplomatic first and only do that if they get stroppy over sorting it tbh).
Oh man :(
Oh well, be firm ;) :D
Dave
Sorted. Hose off new hose on 10 mins
Also popped into MB on the way back home and they say the noise is nothing to be concerned about, just that the engine is now performing as it should :D
And because I came into work late this morning because I missed all the rushhour traffic  :D :D :D
