View Full Version : Clever marketing at local Esso garage

Was gonna post about this the other day but forgot, I reckon it's a top idea :)

In the local Esso garage the other day putting petrol in the wife's Va***all Ashtray :wack: and when I went to pay there was a little dish on the counter with copper coins in and a sign saying something like:

"If you find yourself worrying about the penny's, help yourself"

What a brilliant marketing ploy! How many people do you think will bother picking out a few pence? I reckon roughly none (I was too confused to take any :wack: :o ) but people who see it probably won't worry so much about paying an extra penny or 2 at their local Esso cos they have been given the chance to take the few pennys and realised it's not worth it.

Won't last long though, ext time I go in there I'll be a bit more awake and will pocket the lot :D

Any one else noticed Esso doing this or is it just my local one?

That's quite clever, if a little bizarre :wack:

I think I would have been confused too tbh :o

Strangely enough, I will be VERY sad to say goodbye to it :( I love my car, including all it's faults :)

I actually prefer the post facelift but not enough to turn down an otherwise perfect car ;)

What was this thread about again :wack: Never mind, I started it, can't hardly hijack me own thread - lol :D
