My mountain bike suspension is a bit stiff, I am planning on oiling it or something, but not sure on the best stuff to use? I was gonna clean it up with some WD40 first then use some 2 in 1 or something? Anybody care to enlighten me on the best way to do it?
Cheers,
Richard

What type of suspension bike is it? if it's 1 of the cheap halfords type jobbies, 2 in 1 will probably be fine.. If it uses an expensive shock unit, theres usually a specific oil suggested..

What he said :)
WD40 or GT85 should do the trick. If it's an expensive job then it shouldn't be stiff. If it is then there's something wrong with it.
These guys serviced my Fox Vanilla rear shock http://www.mojo.co.uk/
What sort of suspension are we talking about here? Front forks or rear shock (if it's a full sus)?
If it's front forks, are they oil ones or elastomer ones? If they're elastomer ones, the best thing to do is take them apart completely, clean and regrease eveything and then re-assemble, that's what I do with the Rock Shox Judy DH's I've got on my bike.
I'm not sure about servicing rear shocks or oil forks like Marzocchis.

mojo serviced my Rissie air-oil shock a few years back :) but as stated, of its an elastomer, or spring, with oil damper (NO air or nitrogen) then a DECENT bike shop should be able to do it... a Pace or Rok-Shox service station is a good bet...
hell.. it aint that herd to do it your self... usually the only specalist tols needed are a LONG allen key, decent fork oil, c-clip pliers, and as its apart a seal rebuild kit... (I used to race X-C, and work in a bike shop... :))

Cheers for the replies. Its just a cheap £130 bike I picked up just for the odd occasion as my old bike was rusted to feck. Its front fork suspension only. I guess some 2 in 1 will be fine then, just couldnt find the little book that came with it anywhere :wack:
Cheers,
Richard
