Thinking about trying Auto Solo

I've been invited to have a crack at Auto Solo but thought I'd investigate the possible pitfalls before breaking the car first time out :smash:.

Found a couple of vids of a 200 doing a trial or 2 on YouTube but a search on here came up at a loss for anyone using a 200 for this type of event, not a good sign :indiff:.

Also I'm think is this really something I should be attempting in an Auto S14a pushing 100k on the clock without baffled sumps for oil and ATF? :confused:

Any input is greatly appreciated :thumbs:

by auto solo i guess you mean auto test? as in mini's doing handbrake turns in car parks?

folk in america are mad for auto test have a read on zilvia.

Auto solo is a bit different - no precision parking and stuff from auto testing. Just get round a small tight course as quick as poss without whacking traffic cones :) Will check out Zilvia though, ta ;)

weve got a big club over here that does that sort of thing.

theres about 10 venues, 8 on hard surfaces and 2 on looses ground, i dont risk tking my car off road but i hve done a few of the carpark ones and i found them a right laugh.

No ill effects from the quick changes in direction? I have seen a few cars shat their bottom ends from oil starvation at Auto Tests though admittedly all transverse mounted...

not my cr personally but this one attends every event. its had no major mods done and it is abused by 3 or 4 people on each event

and heres and s13 that run every event in 2009, its still runnung strong now as a pure track car, again ll this car has is an exhaust and filter

I went along once and it was a good laugh, albeit cold :wack:

Loads of cool and differnt cars, from a 14a, though a stripped out mentalist mk1 golf, so a frogeye Sprite with the nuts driven off it :cool:
