View Full Version : Random Poll: Knife and Fork
Everyone I know thinks I'm a bit odd cos I use my knife and fork in the "wrong" hands - I use the right hand for the fork and left for the knife; but everyone else tells me its the other way round...so a poll to decide :D

Erm, try that in Victorian times and you would have been sent down the mines me-lad. LOL
How terribly socially unacceptable. :D:D
Just bad etiquette, I blame the parents.
Thing is, I just can't use a fork in my left hand! I'd have more success with chopsticks!!
There must be somebody else out there who uses the fork in the right hand  How odd!
just tried it @ work
eating bit was ok, the cutting bit was ...errrr... a mess, turkey steak every where .
freak ;) :)

I do this too, I'm turning into a freak   next it will be the fork thing
I am left handed, wear my watch on the left arm, fork is right and knive left when eating. But when eating things I only need a fork for, then I often use the left hand for it. My problem is I cant really use a knife properly with the right. Am I wierd? :D
Ant, were in the same boat....
Who opens packets of crisps upside down?

The reason for not wearing your watch on your right hand if you're right handed is simply so it lasts longer! Because you use your right hand more, it is less likely to get bashed on your left hand.

But I got a G-shock watch that can [apparently] withstand an elephant standing on it - not that I'm going to be testing this feature! :D :p
It tells me:
- the temp
- the air pressure
- how high above sea level we are
- and finally, the time

I'm not the only 1 who opens tins upside down am I ??
knife?
who needs a knife? A good sharpened fork is all you require, and you can use that in either hand while keeping the other free from other things (like pouring beer)

I ALWAYS hold the bladed item in my right hand... you freaks!!! no matter which one of my darling knives or swords it is. it feels much nicer to swing around and easier to cut accurately. see how the blade shines in the light.... mmmm my precious... mmm come to me... captivate me... mmmm
I use the knife in my right hand but wear a watch on my right hand too.
And I'm right handed.
I just like doing things the 'right' way

Im with you Ant, im right handed at everything but eat with the knife in my right hand
right handed
watch- left hand
fork- right hand, but......
if i really need to cut something i cannot cut with the side of the fork, i move fork to left hand, then cut with knife in right hand, then put knife down and switch fork back to right hand.
hmmm i guess im also a freak....
but i do open tins crisps etc the right way up, and hold with left and eat with right.
