View Full Version : T28 fitting advice - how do I do it?
Hi y'all...
I've seen turbo pete's excellent website and got a couple of questions for you that have fitted T28's, if you dont mind:
- does Bren sell the braided hose, air stub pipe, gaskets, copper washers? Or who sells what? What exactly do I need?
- Simon Norris said you need to drill the block out to increase oil flow to the turbo. Any idea what he meant?
- where did you take the air pressue signal from for the actuator?
- anyone got a T25 actuator on the T28? easy to modify?
- any other advice as I gear myself up?
Cheers, Mike
ello Mate.
ok.
1. thought u had a braided hose for the 25? its same hose
stub pipe can be got from Bren or p.nicholas i believe.
All gaskets etc should be fine.
ignore simon on this one!
Most peeps drill the take off pipe to the ic and remove the nipple from the t25 and then glue or tap the nipple into the newly drilled hole.
Jezz s13 has, i think it was a bit of a biatch though.
Maybe as well to sell the actuator.
fit a bren device.
Other advice.
bring it down ere:)
hi Kev...
I did have a braided hose but the garage, in all their wisdom, did not fit it 18 months ago when the turbo was new!!!!!
by "gaskets should be fine" do you mean I dont need new ones? surely not? I dont mind spending an extra few £££ to ensure 121% the car's reliable since, as you know, I work for a living, blah, blah... $*%&? students!
have you got the tap/drill for the air pressure thingy?
wassa Bren device? is it a fancy bleed valve? are they reliable/easily adjustable - as a rule most people avoid bleed valves due to spikes?
...come on down! I'll get me coat! What about morning of 12th August?
something is in my head bout 12th august, but i cant find anything i should be doing, so ill say a provisional  just now.
so u dont have a braided hose at all?
then see bren, or put a post in wanted, should be able to pic one up for £10-15.
If u insist on buying gaskets then id say 4 x manifold/head gaskets, 1 x turbo/manifold gasket, 4x brass turbo water pipe thingymebobbers.
Ive got a drill and tap that...... will do.
bren devoice is a sooper dooper bleedvalve that gives no spikes, martin will comment on this as he has one
aaah, knockhill is on the 12th
