Woohoo! Finally, no sign of the blighters!
Took drastic action, and if you want a key to success without the hassel of a 3rd party heres what I did:
I bought two BIG tubs of flea powder, and sprinkled this all over every flat surface in the house, starting with the lounge, then the bedroom and stairs then hall+kitchen floor, and anywhere else with a carpet!
Now with the whole house totally covered in a white dust (use up the whole tubs) run into the two most infested rooms (ours was the bedroom and the lounge) close all the windows and set off in each room a cannister of flea room bomb - NOT the ones you light that have black smoke, but the wet canister sprays (we got two in one box).
Now, the flea stuff says it will kill everything within 1/2 an hour. This are LIES. It says it will kill ticks after 2 hours aswell, but you'll find if you hoover up that early the fleas are not even affected.
Well, we vacated the house, and went for a meal for 6 HOURS, 12 times the recommended period.
On return, we hoovered up and havent seen anything since!
After about a week, do the following to kill any that may have been unhatched and missed by the dusting or bomb - get a big bowl of water, light 2-3 floating candles in it, turn the lights off and watch the remaining fleas die as they jump to the flickering flame and land in hot wax or the water. For better results stick some washing up liquid in the water too. This will get the one or two that have either just arrived or were begining to set up homes in your home.
After all this your fleas have had NO CHANCE of living. just for goodness sake, make sure you keep your cat flea free with the neck drops AND a flea collar for safe measure so you dont get them again!
My success story in a nutshell, our house was INFESTED, and had over 100 fleas found in one week in ONE room using the candle trick.
Wish you all success!
