In a nut shell, a one of my work colleagues has offered his coilovers off his s14 that have hardly been used and are a very good make to me for not alot of money. Now im pretty sure there are going to be differences, just wondering what they are? If its just top mounts or bottom mounts then i can order these parts from the suspension manufacturer to fit my car.

Anyone got any idea on this? From what i can work out from looking at part numbers on the net etc, front top mounts are the same. For the bottom mounts, you can fit s14 hubs to a 13 so surely they're all the same?! That just leaves the rear top mounts, in which case i can buy or make some to fit...

there's a large difference in length of the rear shocks between the S13 and S14.

heh, just read it better... no idea for the S13 silvia, really.

I'm 95% certain that S13 Silvia runs identical suspension to the UK RS13 200SX (and JPN R(P)S13 180SX). Reason being, I had lightly used stock suspension from a 180 swapped onto my PS13 when the coilovers gave out.

Therefore there will still be a large difference in length between S13 Silvia and S14 rear shocks, and probably you can't fit them.

S14/15 rear top mounts are different to S13 ones. The studs are spaced differently, and they are a fair bit longer.
I think the fronts have got larger bolt holes on S14 hub mounts.

cool, thats what i thought. Top mounts arent a problem as i can just get/make some different ones. If they are a fair bit longer it would mean that i'd have some gay hot rod rake thing going on, but i'll have a look see how different they are in length first.

Is there anyone out there that can tell me the difference in length?

I can sort the bolt holes out by welding some washers with the s13 bolt dia on the outside of where it mounts to the hub

I'm prepared to make them fit as they are a decent set of suspension, not the usual stuff :)

They're a fair bit longer, a good few inches. You could probably fit S13 top mounts to them I imagine.

I was going to use the suspension off my old S13 on my S15, but just sold it in the end and bought stuff that would bolt straight on.

On S14/15's the rear suspension top mount bolts up just underneath the rear shelf, so you can get an idea off how much longer they are.

If the ones you can get have got a lot of adjustment, you could try adjusting them to the lowest setting and compare them to what you've got on the car at the minute.

Thats true, i'm sure my work colleague will let me test fit them any way. Worth a shot i think, i'll whip one of the rears off and take it into work and get the tape measure out lol
