Longwell green Meet

Following on from the recent Longwell Green Meet thread, it seems apparent that a number of people would prefer a different time/date. Here is a quick poll to see people’s general feelings about such a subject. If you care enough throw your opinion up and we will take it from there.

Of course it goes without saying, should people want to organise mini meets off of their own backs then that’s cool :thumbs:

I've voted sunday but really any day is good for me. What I want is something a bit more structured - turning up in a car park is fine in the summer and there's 20 odd people there but I think there's so much more we could do to make the meets more of an event to interest a lot more poeple - there's a lot of sxer's in and around bristol and we all know not many turn up to the meets on a regular bassis :(

Voted for a sunday, but know the Mrs will kill me for it as thats when we're supposed to go visit her rents if I'm off.

But if it'll get more peeps turning up then that can't be a bad thing,
on the warm meet point thing there is a good pub just upstairs from the car park you know :wack:

I voted sat with a different time. Sunday is a No No, can't miss my roast dinner! The current time means i can't to jack all in the day.

I've voted sunday as I've always wanted to tag along to one of these but I work in retail and saturdays are a no go :wack:

what about changing up locations? i mean south west has pub meets etc not just meeting in a car park.

my only issue is either meet i go to south west or west country i have about an hour drive so really needs to be a worthwhile drive. as i dont have much free time! still think a joint cheddar meet would be cool!

I don't neccessarily think the idea on this thread is to discuss alternative locations for additional meets - the Longwell one has been going for some time and a lot fo peeps around this area are familiar with that meet.
I think it would be bad to change it; however, as Matt said, additional meets can always be arranged for somewhere else :nod:

Sat , Sunday or midweek I can usually do (dependent on when I'm back down South visiting my Family) but I agree the time is a bit in the middle of the day, so a bit tricky some times. Maybe 4pm or 5pm?

OR how's about alternating the meets between Saturdays and Sundays; that way no members are excluded and peeps are given the opportunity to attend at least half the meets each year :thumbs:

Additional meets are fine.

Granted there are those that can't make the normal Saturday meet so the best solution is to add an extra Bristol meet, possibly Sunday going by the responses to the poll so far.

Don't forget it's the arse end of the year and generally meeting attendance is low in the winter months.



In the spring/summer we can try the occasional evening meet. This suggestion was made last year. I'll certainly arrange them but the proof will be in the pudding.

I.e It's all very well talking about it. At the end of the day it takes effort from everyone to then stick to their word and turn up.

I don't want to mention other clubs but 'Tatsu' have a monthly meet & regularily go on a cruise to Cheddar gorge or the Riverside in Bath.They seem to get good numbers turn up often.It would seem that if we did something rather than stood in a carpark then more people might turn up.
I went to the sxoc/soc club meet at the end of last year & only Skylines turned up!!!!!!!

I always skip the cruise part as I can't be arsed with convoys and turn up at the finishing point fasionably late :D

Not that I've been to one of their meets for over a year now either :wack:
