alfa romeo 156, 2.5 V6, 99 reg,

can anybody tell me where the best place is to get things like susspension, exhaust, etc from and i been looking on ebay and there aint much in the way of exhausts and not masses of choice on susspension,

also, does anybody happen to have a dipstick for one as there isn't one with the car lol. looked on ebay and not one there, and no 2.5 v6's being broken......

You'll be surprised how cheap a new dipstick from the stealers will be I reckon, compared to something like Nissan prices.

I really like 156's and 159's - in fact I think I'll have a 159 sometime shortly

id be checking the rear toe arm bushes and trailing arm bushes for play, front antiroll bar for side to side movement, front upper and lower ball joints and check the handbrake cables aren't seized.
i would also be putting a cambelt on it for peice of mind, otherwise the V6 was over engineered and is quite a good strong engine.

Take it to the scrappy and do yourself a favour lol only joking mate bloke at work has one. looks alright but make sure you get the cambelt done with the tensioner wheels as I have read they explode as there plastic lol oh also the variator on the camshaft is known to go . I know it's a lot of negative but just so you know :)

159's probably the best looking 4 door saloon out there atm imo.

Get a nice induction kit on there, the alfa v6's have an awesome induction noise

I think wildwest has a set of lowering springs and side skirts that he was going to be fitting to the misses 156 2.4 jtd but think that plan is out the window. will tell him to pm you. that is if you are intrested

Apparently its an Engine out job to do the cam belt! Also AP and Eibach do coil overs

Nah, they say the same about the Fiat Coops but that's not true either.

£400 with all bits supplied and fitted - not tragic IMO

Anyway, also found this whilst googling

Have a look here: www.ebspares.co.uk, the place is just up the road from me, never used them but a mate with an alfa reckons they are knowledgeable and prices are reasonable he prefers them to the main dealer

Yeah keep an eye out for it breaking down, it is an Alfa remember.
If its pre-broken then you wont need to worry though
