R32 is meant to be the drivers choice though :)

I'm torn - I love the R32 for it's retro looks and if I were to buy a Skyline it's the one I would choose, mainly because of budget restraints and the fact that I find the R33 rather bland looking :|

But I love the R34, if money was no object I'd definitely have one, I think they're gorgeous  :D :D

(I voted R34 btw ;) )

R33 for me please :) Seemed to me to be the car that started the general public sitting up and noticing Japanese performance cars, even if most people probably still don't consciously know what it is  (and the fact that it may be considered a bit bland looking and blends in a little bit makes it all the more desirable to me).

To be honest, I reckon I'd have any of them though given a chance :)

I'll have an R32 soon I hope (within 2yrs), but I really do like the R34 but will never afford one; Certainly not in the near future anyway.

That is a nice example of a Skyline and if I was pushed I'd say I prefer the looks of the R32. I think the R34 looks like a huge barge

I went for the R32 because I can just about afford one now, bloke in the village where I live has got a grey one with white wheels and a huge hks zorst on it, looks and sounds the business, currently running around 400bhp the luckey fhttp://www.pistonheads.com/include/images/censored.gifer

Easily the R32. You can't really get any more hardcore street racer than with one of them. They look much better than the 33/34 if you ask me, and they're lighter too.

A stripped out white one with white 18" Enkei RS5's, fully built suspension and about 500hp please. Thankyou :)

Have you ever driven one Vez? Yes its big, yes its heavy, but it handles like a dream, I think mine goes like stink and its so unassuming in looks (which I love) that no one knows what just blew them off the road... :D:D:D

I have driven tanjuakios S14 loads and obviously my car, and I love them both in their own ways....

I voted R33 obviously, but I would take any of them...

I suggest you try all try one.... :D

Doesnt do anything for me matey, even an 800bhp aint as fast as a 350bhp Ultima, which handles a shit load better!

R32 has it for me. I could just about afford a nice one but I would have to sell the house when mods the first service came around!
Gun Metal GTR V-Spec with white 17" Speedlines. 550hp and as much torque as poss and some nice coilovers for meeeee!

I voted R32 cos thats what i would have in my current position for sure, i like the thought of old school skyline ripping 'conservative' and expensive ass r34's to shit;) however if i had the money it would be the r34 and thats because it is the best evolution of the skyline, certainly the best for cornering outta the 3. However i really NEED an r32 at some point in my life;)

R32 GTS with RB26 swap, twin 3037 turbos and 550ish bhp, coilovers, cage, stripped interior, volk TE37s in bronze. So thats the daily driver sorted, dunno about a proper drift/track car though:rolleyes:

I think they all stick to the "Gentlemans agreement" (278bhp??) out of the factory

ok gonna stick my neck out here (hell, i'm allowed my opinion!)

if i was forced at gun point to choose, i'd say since they are (obviously in standard form) all pretty much as quick as each other, then the R33, as it has a more endearing shape. Meaty looking. The R34 looks a bit bolt-on boyish... ie badly designed in separate bits... just really look at it and you might understand. For a track I'd choose an R32 GTR as it's lighter and should be better on the corners.

Back to aesthetics... I remember seeing the R32 GTR back in 1990 in some 'world' car magazine and it looked so dull i didnt form an opinion, i flicked past it quite quickly to spend more time looking at the variations of the 300zx.

Now if I was holding the gun i'd tell the person asking that they really are not very nice cars to look at. And definitely not beautiful (I can't help laughing every time someone describes them as beautiful). Quick maybe, but then they're 4wd which is pretty dull... (yes there are the RWD models but they're slower and if we're looking at potential, then harder to tune).

So I'd choose option 4.

*shrug*

R33

Dont like how they changed the tail lights on the R34

BTW I have driven both the 32 and 33, neither handled anything close to bad, very nice to drive actually.

In all fairness though, stirring the soul is not something the japanese have ever been good in car design, well, maybe except one of these...

but they more than make up for it in dynamics... :)

Yes but the 4WD is set up so that you can keep your arse out all day long. Whereas an Evo or WRX will just go "hang on, this guy doesn't know what he's doing, I'll just put him on a nice tidy line" the Skyline will go "you want a pair of 200yd rubber lines? you got em". 4WD on Audis is dull, on Evos and WRXs it's staggeringly competent, on Skylines it's hilarious fun.

(R32 in grey)

now that is a nice car. what is it?

TBH in terms of modern day japanese sports cars, the supra and rx7 look nicer... look like they were designed with sportiness in mind.

Fair point about the skyline allowing you to powerslide, but I was lead to believe that it does all the work for you which kinda defeats the point as the fun comes in getting it right yourself!

TBH I'm torn! I like em all, but I could never afford an R34 (not the way the ***** keeps gobbling up my cash anyway! ) I really like R33, they just have "I'm 'ard" written all over them. And I really love the look of an R32, so, ermm, I don't know!!! I think on balance it'd have to be an R32, although the only skylineI've ever driven is Skips R33 GTS. handles easily as well as mine, but in a more cosseted way atm. So I can only assume all the others are as good, if not better.
