so, today I investigated why the fans was only blowing cold air... it quickly came apparent...

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0092.jpg

so got the hose out and flushed through the matrix's (to be sure its not blocked as for why the terrible bodge :wack:   )

connected it up as it should be... good out google image search :D then bleed it through as per Mitto's guide on Driftworks. fans are now blowing warm air

but... it took a long time to warm up (which it has been...) so now im beginning to believe the thermostat is stuck open... or has been removed  i know the ECU temp sensor is working fine as i stuck my consult cable in and it read 75*... :)

but nearly an hour to get there :| i know this cold weather dont help, but when i was bleeding the system it didnt do its usual "gulp" when the thermostat opened...

so boxing day i will be spend doing a full coolant flush, and replacing the thermostat.. MASSIVE THANKSSS! goes to Lou, mate your a legenddd for picking the thermostat up for me dude :worthy:

I dont understand why the R33 is veiwed as the 'Runt' of the Skyline litter! I bought mine because in my personnel opinion i think it's the best looking,
I veiwed a few R32's but i was underwhelmed by the interior and do feel they look 'boxy' and are a tad dated, As for R34's i just dont like the way the rear lights are set out, Bang for buck i dont think you can go wrong with an R33, This is just my veiw, I dont want to start a flame war! Cheers.

today, whilst waiting to sort out a Matrix i thought ill make a start to the interior,

first thing, set about fitting my £20 ebay steering hub :wack: against what everyone said about not being able to fit one to a HICAS model... i thought ill have an attempted...

well, as i have locked out the HICAS and the bulb, i ripped out all the stuff related to it around the steering wheel... which left me with this:

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0103.jpg

now the back of the steering wheel:
http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0107.jpg

but there was nowhere for the indicator canceling bit to go into the hub... out come the drill:

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0108.jpg

sorted :D

fitted it all... just gotta sort something out to wire up the horn, but i got a plan for that

so then fitted my K-sport seat and Harness, didn't fancy drilling holes and using spreader plates, so decided that using the rear seat subframe mounting would be ideal...
its a M10x1.25 thread thou...
i need a 7/16 UNF thread to use the eyebolt..
from looking in my ZEUS book, a tapping drill for a 7/16 UNF was ~10.3mm (cant remember what in "old money..." but no matter what i didnt have any imperial drills!) 10mm drill bit will do :smash:

so ran the 10mm drill bit in there then the tap:

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0111.jpg

jobs a gooden:
http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0114.jpg

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0115.jpg

then used a longer eyebolt (to be honest... normal one would of been fine...)

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0112.jpg

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0117.jpg

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0121.jpg

then done the same thing with the passenger side (stock seat but 4 point harness). this then allowed me to retain the stock seat belt, and the harness there set up for Hannah. means that anyone can just jump in, without the hassle of adjusting the harness every time :)

well today i decided to take over the house and squeeze my bus under the carport (much to this dismay of my rents! :furious:)

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0126.jpg

thats better. bit warmer and dry :D

do a few more checks and looked to see if there was a place in the downpipe for a wideband sensor to live but there wasnt :( just gonna stick it where the lamba currently is to check all is well on a WOT run)

then this popped out at me....

 chicken wire has place on ANY car :whip:

thats sorted a rattle too

Then popped over to Nissan in bognor to grab some genuine nissan GL4 gearbox oil (the only stuff i would ever personally use in a nissan box...)

Then over to a mates workshop to strip the diff (welding diffs in housing is bad news....) as he didnt get a chance to do it yesterday.

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0134.jpg

brappp thats now confirmed its a 4.36 ratio

so left my mate to weld it up whilst i popped over to see another mate to grab a splitter off him... whilst there dave very kindly solder up my light switch so the full and main beam come on together :) thanks again dude

so diff has had to be left over night to cool down... i wanted it in and fitted today but oh well :(

first thing tomorrow, clean diff up, rebuild. chuck it in the casing, fresh oil stick it in the car :smash:

just praying my "new" matrixs arrives tomorrow... back to work Friday so back to limited-working-on-car-time :(

been a bit slow to update this! fast move project :smash:

today i fitted my welded diff on the drive... the last time i ever do a diff on my own every time i wanted to undo something i had to get out from under the car...
stick hand back on...
loosen bolt
hand brake off
back under to turn drive shaft to next bolt
hand brake on
loosen bolt and repeat for all the bolts (14 in total)

:annoyed:

snapped a 14mm ring spanner as one of prop to diff bolts was so tight in doing so twa tted myself a gooden

then had to man handle the diff into place... about 45kilos which was no fun (my poxy halfords jack didnt wanna play ball... still waiting on my nice new one to arrive )

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260427659635&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

:Plug:

car still sitting on axle stands as my jack has faillledddd me so unable to test it out

on a brighter note my "new" matrix arrived today...
sadly due to having some jabs run out of time to get that sorted!

about an hour later....

mate popped around with a jack, got the bus off the axle stands...

took her for a drive to some private land...;)

SHE DOES GOOD SKIDZZZZZZZZ

thou feels like a boat!!
(no surprise with the ride height... plus comparing with my 14!)

also got some slight understeer issues! nothing a good alignment won't hopefully sort

oh... and the reason for my slight black eye:

http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz300/zoopo2/IMAG0136.jpg

cheap spanner i know... but they are the only ones thin enough to get on the ring end to undo the prop bolts...
well without taking a grinder to a good spanner... which is only gonna weaken it...

I have never manage it with an open ended spanner  :ghey:

Nice work clive, good move on the chicken wire! lol
Have you not bought and fitted a GTR badge yet????

All good progress here dude!

Can I ask what your getting mpg wise, mixed use, i'm curious about what these extra cylinders can do to your wallet...

cheers dude.

well for me, the fuel is pretty shite... although im comparing it to a mapped sr20det which returned 25-30mpg normal driving...

also, to add fuel being £1.32 a litre dont help the mind think its more....

but, i would say:
got 120-130 miles with ~30litres @ £1.32 a litre

so about 20MPG :omg:

saying that- its about the same as a stock mapped sr20det running stage 1a mods @ 12psi....

currently got a few mapping options... just not decided what way to go, will update near the end of the month :)
