Is there a special name for bikes where you sorta sit right down into them, IE have your hands up above hip level? If you know what I mean? Legs in front rather than under/behind?
Who makes things like that? I want!

Most choppers are custom jobs, Harleys did a few hardtail things though
so those sorta sling back things aren't standard then?
i'm not after bars right up and over like easy rider bikes, sorta halfway version!
but cool
who cares about speed, they get from A2B and look very sexy.
Unlike my Starion that goes from A2b, looks sexy and is quick :)
I thought sling backs were shoes:confused:
:D
you guys aren't much help
and i thought you knew everything
I can't eve find a pic of the sort thing
oh how much do you reckon a Honda CB200 in good condition is worth?
Do you mean something along these lines?

it's a 2003 Harley Davidson :)
They're not proper bikes :p:p:p
nope...
saw one today, should have flagged the guy down.
not a chopper as the front forks aren't that long. but you sit lower than on a Harley but the bars aren't a stupid length.
You know that horrible Saab advert drawing thing? that sorta position...
Like Zeds bike in Pulp Fiction? assuming you've seen it of course:)
found a pic at last :D

The harley sportsters are a little less 'choppery' but still not a proper bike (but then I like ducatis so there you go)

Who cares about proper?
If we did things properly, we'd be talking like the Queens, buying full price CDs and respecting police orificers

Shite heaps, the 2 wheel equivalent of a 2CV.
Who wants a bike that weighs as much as a car ?
I do.
Well, maybe I do.
I'm not interested in bikes for the going quickly potential. I've got a Starion for that and, lets face it, the faster you go on a bike the more likely you are to meet a blind idiot in a 4x4 who thinks that you're a wasp or some other annoyance to be squished.
I like the look of the slung back bikes, I like the potential for just sauntering places. If you saunter you can notice stuff...
Does anyone do them other than Harley? Coz if not, I won't be getting one
All the Jap manufacturersmake something along those lines. Check out the Kawasaki VN800 (http://www.snichol.freeserve.co.uk/vulcan071001d.JPG)
Yamaha Virago (http://www.vsocxv.co.uk/photo_album_files/whitstable/P0002207.jpg)
or Suzuki Intruder (can't find a pic)
Yahama do a whole range of cruisers (http://uk.yme.com/page.cfm?pageID=67218)
:)
The one and only triumph...
they make a 50's style cafe racer, one in which you dont look like your trying to shag the petrol tank in and get off with a crick in your back...
Have a look online - Triumph do most styles I think - even to the frighteningly good daytona 900 thingys..

I'm sorry but if it's not plastic, doesn't go round corners, has saddle bags from the high chaperal, you spend more time cleaning it than riding it, or is capable of pulling a small caraven (re:Honda Goldwing) and don't let you hit things head first (let's face it if you spend all that cash on a helmet you want some use out of it) then it ain't a proper bike ;)

Yamaha's 1200 V-max is kinda cool, fast in a straight line and has been around since '85 so there are cheaper ones about. It holds it's value OK too.
Kawasaki's Drifter range look like 1950s Indians (big mudguards etc; v cool).
Kawsaki's 1500 Mean Streak handles and stops OK (as does Harley's V-Rod) but they're kind of pricey.
If you want a posey, shiney, fun bike, consider an upright 'muscle bike' like a Yamaha XJR1200 or 1300 which look just as nice but are more usable.
Forum rules say I can't post attachment for whatever reason.
CB200 could be worth anything from £25 to £750.
If it's mint, low mileage (most importantly) original, etc, it'd fetch £500+.
If it's a shed, say £200 if it's a runner with Mot etc
Quick bikes are worth a second thought. They are ****ing quick these days. They're very practical in towns due to traffic and parking but otherwise are impractical and expensive toys. But they are good. I have four at the moment.

Yam Virago is a good starter bike, wouldn't go for anything bigger as a first bike imo
Truimph Bonneville's are pretty cool too,
My dads got one of these, kawasaki W650
