thats the same engine as the TYPE R but with a smaller throttle body, and milder cams i think, im sure it can be converted to run as much power as a type r for a few quid though :)
ive had an accord type r recently and honda really do know what they are doing when it comes to all round quick cars
ah the lovely and glorious b18, let the vtec times roll
If you can find one integra type-r gearboxs make a huge difference! Straight fit as well.
Turbo conversion and your done

definitely with you on this one. the LSD in them transforms the car

i'd put a stock airbox back on if you can (or sort out a better position/cold air feed).
friend used to have a B16 CRX and put a filter in the same position, no more power but used rather more fuel :)
good cars, wife has a civic coupe with the D16, not quite b16/18 vtec but fun when you like keeping your toe in :D

Check the box that's in there as some of them did come with an LSD. My mates estate had one, and it was stamped with a black 'LSD' marking on the side.

I think teg box also has different ratio's in 1st and 2nd. Certainly much easier to keep VTEC on the boil when scrambling away :)

S80 gearbox will fit directly, it has shorter ratios and also a diff.
Can be picked up reliability easily.

great cars mate, ma ex has got 1 n used to drive it alot, brilliant fun. wud reccomend to change the box for the integra one, makes some difference.
Used to have EK4 vti b4 a got ma 180, regret selling it, best fun car ive had and and thrashed it everywhere i went, and never had any bother with it. If you goin for exhaust system, go for the Mongoose sytem n decat, good exhaust n not too loud.
Wots ur plans for it?

Cheers for the comment guys, as for the gearbox ive been told its a LSD gearbox but i havent actually checked it yet but i have noticed it has quite short shifts, it does about 4000rpm at about 70mph which isnt to great, ill have a look for 1. The crx has a engine bay much smaller than mine and that big hole underneth the filter goes striaght to the front of the car and it looks good :D
Ive got a de-cat with 2 box system, its sort of loud at low revs but disappears after 5 when the vtec kicks in hehe :D
Well im getting a price some custom wheels atm but any performance bits will come next year, i dont to make it to quick or ill have to start payin loads of money for petrol so id rather build a track car instead

All made by me and welded by my mate at work, its all stainless and not that heavy :D
thats impresive mate :)
top work.. you could sell that easily.

All of them come with LSDs, the S9B (The standard gearbox) comes with them as standard.
Tbh mate, it's not really worth trying to make it 'as good' as an Integra engine, you'll spend a lot of money and get nothing. As said buy a S80 gearbox, some good tyres and enjoy the car.

Top work, how did you finish that in carbon?

I used a ebay seller called Underground graphics and the stuff is called 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fibre Vinyl, its great, it looks real and feels like carbon, i got a sheet of 300mm by 600mm for £10.95 which i think is pretty good :D
Oil catch can is on :D

The standard vti-s box does have a diff, mine is awesome fun in the wet! The ratios are very ghey though. Long lower gears and short higher gears make both acceleration and motorway cruising a bit crappy.

yeh its brillant for hitting the limiter lol but shit at 70mph :horse:
Is there any power difference between the prelude H22 and the type R accord H22 ?
sambo180
01-01-2011, 13:30
Prelude H22 = 200bhp, Accord Type-r = 212bhp.
you would b better to go for teg type-r engine n gearbox, the H22 is a fair bit heavier, or even turbocharge or supercharge the engine thats in it.

i looked at these a couple of years back, big fan
s14michaelw
02-01-2011, 18:06
so not much difference then, i would think the type r h22 would be abit stronger but nevermind ive decided to sell it in a couple of months now, i just need 2 new front tyres and a service.
Ill be selling it for £2500 if anyone is interested :D

ah well, fair enough. wots the mileage on it?
like these cars mate. the car look very cool when you do a bit of work to it, and black is the best colour for them i think.
superspat
04-01-2011, 20:00
nice motor, i had 2 integra type r in the past couple of years and nothing beats the reliability of the b18 motor nor the sound of the vtec when coupled with a 4-1 mani-decet and strait through exhaust:)
if you can find 1 get a apexi power fc ecu for it, totaly transformed my 1st teg but a bit costly:mad:
s14michaelw
04-01-2011, 21:14
The millage is the only thing bad about it, the last onwer used it on the motorway alot but it runs really smooth with no knocks or anything but it has 126k on the clock :wack:
Well marky its a VTi-S and they only come in that colour and its not really black, its called pirates black and its actually very deep purple :D and i wont be doing anything else to it :troll:
