For those of you that like to avoid the grit/salt on the roads, and hide your car away in the garage, the first official gritting run was yesterday, they've gone out tonight too!
Im not one of the drivers, but most of my workmates are, so i'll generally know when they are going out! whilst i dont know the exact routes, the gritters (except the spares unfortunately) are fitted with a GPS/tracker that automatically adjusts how much salt is coming out the back.
For any of you Surrey lot that work for Surrey Highways, insofar as we get told down here, May Gurney are either bidding or in the top 3 bidders for your highways contract so i'll just point out that whilst the managers/supervisors probably wont have a bad word to say against them, the entire workforce do! (west sussex at least!)
