My mate just mentioned this...

Staffordshire Police have bought two Talivans and will start using them on Wednesday 2 July. They will be on the A34 at Newcastle under Lyme, A449 Stafford and the A51 at Weston for a period of two weeks. After this time they will move to other locations which will be publicised as part of the rules for keeping the cash from fines. The locations will change every fortnight.

I used to live in Newcastle, off silverdale road. The cops up there are complete tossers. I spoke to a traffic policeman about 2yrs ago up at Foleys motorcycles and he told me that there were only something like 10 traffic cops left. He said, you'll never get done for speeding by one of us these days, there are too many camera's about.

They used to set a mobile camera up on the A34 in Trent Vale, but theres probably a camera ever 150m down there now.

They're only there to make money......

Kirky.

That's a very cynical attidude and one which the majority of SXOC members would disagree with I expect.

Ok sorry, I take it back....

The cameras are there to make the roads safer for us, and are there to point out accident blackspots......

They are not there to make money for the local police force at all, and ALL of the money goes toward fighting crime.

And counting - there are about 13 between Dog Kennel Lane and the Trentham Gardens roundabout
