depends how much your paying for it as to whether its worth bothering with.
I personally wouldn't pay any more than £800 for a top notch one. They go through the auction @ Newark for about £500 so that gives you an idea.
Quite quick - alot of the XR4x4 lads replace their lumps with the cosworth engine but it needs a fair bit of work to get real power out of it and tuning parts aren't that widespread - not your problem if your flogging it though!!
That said they are pretty pimp (especially with polished standard wheels) and you certainly get enough toys in them. You may need to take shares out in Esso though as they are a bit thirsty.
They also rot in the usual places for grannies - sills and arches - although not as bad as normal as (I think) they were built in Germany and therefore last a bit longer.
cheers
Wil
Those 24v cossy lumps push 200bhp standard. All it is is the old 2.9 v6 lump with a pair of twin cam 24v head's fitted on it. There is a guy on our site that run's a twin turbo one in his xr4x4 which is supposed to be 400bhp but i've never seen him put it to go.
I wouldn't buy it to sell on though - no body wants them!
pretty much what i thought.... :( thanks lads

quite fancy myself in a pimp mobile like that!!!
from what i just read more than hes likely to get!!! He wants £2000 for a N reg, with full ford service history and all ford parts recepts... its the top of the range one and is absolutley mint but....... still £2000

If you looking for 'pimp' get the Honda legend. A Japanese pimp mobile with a 3.2 V6.
Loved in the states, think they call em accuras.
Sorry to hijack your thread mate

Bloody hell - thats a bit steep,
mind you some mug will pay it. Nice motor but its not worth that no matter how mint it is.
I think the N's came with quite curvy bumpers unlike the first ones so whoever does buy it should fit in nicely with the fiesta Si's down Burger King

bit dear in price round this way though and a little hard to come by.
Would look class on big rims though.....
Think we should have a new thread - best currently available pimp car!!

Is it a green/blue one? If its the one I think it is, its pukka :)
I had one for a bit, they are autos, but a fcuking laugh :D They really are underestimated cars.
If it is the one I reckon, It has full stainless system on it too. Well worth £2k
Is this a Granada scorpio, or a Scorpio.
I'm on about the Granada one, the other one is bug eyed shite.
Dave dies in "Wil actually posting shock" :D

my mates carlton was a total gangster!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he got it for free with 150k on the clock
then got a free set of gsi rims with good tyres
it came with a boot full of spares free, he got a rocky 12" sub and a box for free (people are thick)
it has now done over 160k and is still going strong, it is probably the best balanced car i have ever seen, and it runs on fumes!!!!!!
by the way it's a 1.8 poverty spec carb model

Nowt wrong with the newer frog eyed jobbies, apart from that Ford badge and a lardy rear end, they've got every concievable gizmo and are RWD. I nearly got one but ended up with an Audi A6 instead, it just felt nicer.
Even got its own site
