I'm thinking we should pass of the beefeater this year. We had a few complaints after last years meal :(
Anyone interested in a few beers in the evening? I might book a travel lodge or something :)
Get some dates sorted out and even i may turn up.

Drinks sounds good.
If you want to book a Saturday night in Plymouth or Exeter for a group of people near to crimbo we will need to commit to numbers ASAP.

Well I think it should be Plymouth area again as that is central. But not Beefeater again - it was shocking last year! Oh and the best places are being booked up now so let's crack on, only 95 days til Xmas.

How about Oceana and a kebab :D Sounds like an ideal christmas do to me.
Is their an harvester in plymouth as they are normally pretty good.

Not sure  but it's the same sort of cheap chain as Beefeater isn't it? The Harvester in Exeter is :hurl:

Strange. Ours is really good:nod:
I thought you was cooking for us this year Chan?
Yeah I was, but house buying has come to a halt until I know what I'm doing with my life :wack:

There is a harvester  Also loads of other places that do food :D
Oceanea sucks... although I'm probably getting old :(

Sounds like your a man in the know. Where is suitable for us to meet/eat seeing as most will be driving?
Oceana was awesome compared to what we have in taunton. Know what you mean about feeling old though :(

Old Orleans in the former Warner Village? Def good food, bit expensive though. Plenty of parking.
Old Orleans?!?!?! But there is a Nandos next door... why would you go to Old orleans!!! :D
There is a pub just around the corner... I forget its name, does decent food :) Also a holiday Inn next door for those wanting to stay  Its in between Oceana :ghey: and the Barbican :D
I would say stay at mine, but I have one parking space so epic parking pain!

I will be going to this, wherever it ends up. I have nothing useful to add though :(
There is a pub just around the corner... I forget its name, does decent food :)
That'd be the China House :P
Geeze, HE'S ALIVE!!! :D ;)
I love Nando's! (not sure if it's suitable for a large party like Old Orleans is though.)
parking in the warnervillage will be shite especialy for a group of us! yea china house is quite nice, small car park tho. there is a harverster in plympton, and loadsa carvery pubs dotted about, toby carvery near roborough have a quite big car park.
theres always route 38 although its been done to death and most ppl r sick of it, ???????

Route 38 is class but not really a Christmas type place imho :(

Parking should be ok in Warner Village. Most 200s (even just slightly lowered) wont get over the ridiculous speed bump at the entrance to China House. Good food though. Nandos isn't practical really, space-wise - Old Orleans is a good choice I think; would prob get my vote. The Jack Rabbit pub up in Crownhill is very nice and has a decent-sized car park but prob a good idea to not get too deep into Plymouth, thinking of the Cornwall and Somerset lot not necessarily knowing the area well.
We have had a table of 20 in nandos before
China house would be the best of the choice, old orleans doesnt cut the mustard when there is a nandos next door
Not sure how many from Somerset are going to come? I think they are having a curry night :D which i'll go along to as well
Geeze, HE'S ALIVE!!! :D ;)
Indeed I am :)
Your issue with China House is that it has a rather severe speed hump going into the car park - might be worth investigation how much that would inhibit getting some of the lower cars in there. The food & venue are however both awesome.
Oceanea sucks... although I'm probably getting old :(
nahh its just shit.
and if channie brings his trannie he could put loads of wood in the back and then make a ramp over the speed bump @ china house. :P

Just use bags of compost/sand, they do they job really well.
Depending on my schedule i might see if i can make this.

Right, who's gonna make the calls and organise this then? I'm happy to do it again this year if people want. Any more suggestions for venues?
Chriscooke
07-10-2010, 23:12
Have we actually decided on a venue yet? I think the beefeater is a non-starter due to the feedbackfro las year:nod:
We'll have to get something sorted soonish though as I would suggest the meal should be quite early in december to avoid all the christmas partys etc

Bump. Come on ladies. Any more suggestions in and around plymouth? We'll end up at mcdonalds at this rate:wack:
Ross S14
08-10-2010, 23:32
I didn't think we'd get many more suggestions :wack: that's why I said someone should make some calls now to check availability in the places already suggested.
Chriscooke
08-10-2010, 23:39
You could well be right. I don't care where it is to be honest. I don't mind helping to organise this but I have little to know knowledge of plymouth as others will confirm:wack:

When you say "down this way" do you mean redruth? It may be a little too far down for some of the exeter/devon lot as you say:nod:
