ECU problems

Just had my ecu back from a friend whos fitted me a socket for my stage 1 chip to fit in but it wont start.Even the trouble code lights dont flash properly.Am i looking at a fu***d ecu and chip or have i done something wrong?Anybody got an ecu with a stage 1 chip for sale?

I had exactly the same problem, if you still have the original EPROM try pushing it in the socket and giving it a spin. I changed mine for a socket and ND stage 1 chip with a very bad hangover it didn't work but the chip turned out to be duff. If you need a standard chip blown let me know I can do them at work,

I have a socket installed in my ECU. The car has died a couple of times but would restart if I gave the chip a wiggle.

I re-soldered the socket in place and the problem hasn't re-occured... yet...

I bought the chip of a guy on this board so i dont know if thats the problem,and the old chip is shagged,how much if you got one done at work?
