Saw a Citreon XM do this in front of me on the M way a couple of years back, we were cruising at about 80ish and suddenly his reverse lights come on and the car lurches forward as if he'd slammed on the brakes.

I hope it was a diesel looking at the huge cloud of black smoke that came out the back.
Any side affects after doing it?

Here's a good one, dont redline in 4th and put it into 3rd.

Sudden 10000rpm bursts will bend a CA18 crank.
But fortunately didn't snap any rods or shatter any pistons. :thumbs:

I was talking to a car sales guy about a customer of his who'd put his CRX in to reverse at 60mph.

The phrase he used was "it shat it's gearbox all over the road"

A bit off topic this.....

James, I couldn't find a decent piece of road to try it on, we did two runs, 7.25 and 7.09 seconds but the launches were awful.

I think I could get it down to under 6 in the right conditions so I'll have a go another day.

Managed to get away with it and was f**ing lucky, once the car reved beyond 8K I quickly depressed the clutch and by some mirracle there doesn't seem to have been any damage :D

:eek: I don't know how you managed to do that, all the 200's I've tried it with will not go from 5th to reverse, it's an inbuilt safety feature.
