I know it's still horribly early.. but..

This year I was thinking of sorting out a night out in Reading for this :nod:

A meal somewhere in town, followed by a few drinks for those that want to carry on :)


If anyone has any ideas of any thing specific they'd like to do, let me know here :)

Not necessarily.. the Prezzo deal with a glass of wine was pretty good.

Doubt those sorts of things will be available for Xmas bookings though.. but we'll see :)

I have to go into town on Saturday morning so I'll have a scout about and see what options we have :)

Looking at Old Orleans at the mo... Slug and Lettuce / HaHa's looks nice... but I think most of you will moan the food is too posh :wack:

Menu for Old Orleans is:

Starters

*Mojito Glazed Chicken Wings -Succulent grilled chicken wings, smothered with a deliciously sticky mojito glaze

*Potato Shells with Cheese & Sour Cream -Crispy potato shells topped with cheese and served with cool sour cream.

*Smoked Salmon & Shrimp Cocktail -Juicy shrimps and strips of smoked salmon in a creamy mayonnaise, served with melba toast.

*Brie & Cranberry Parcel (V) -A light pastry pillow, filled with brie and cranberries.


Main Courses

*Sirloin Steak (extra £3) -Prime 21 day aged sirloin steak, grilled to your liking and served with onion rings, grilled tomato and your choice of fries, jacket potato, herby diced potatoes or salad.

*Deep South Christmas Turkey -Tender turkey with a festive cranberry & apple stuffing, smothered in a rich gravy and served with a bacon wrapped chipolata, herby diced potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

*Cranberry & Orange Duck -A crispy duck confit, covered in a tangy cranberry & orange glaze. Served with herby diced potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

*Lean Mean Bison Burger -A 6oz lean bison burger, grilled to perfection and served with fries and coleslaw.

*Red Snapper Fillet -A grilled fillet of juicy red snapper, drizzled with a white wine sauce and topped with cranberries. Served with seasonal vegetables and your choice of fries, jacket potato, herby diced potatoes or salad.

*Stuffed Butternut Squash (V) -Half a butternut squash filled with cannellini beans, mozzarella, peppers and tomatoes, topped with a pumpkin & sunflower seed crumb.


Desserts

*Homemade Fruit Waffles -Homemade waffle served with fruits of the forest and vanilla ice cream.

*Traditional Christmas Pudding -Moist Christmas pudding, served with a brandy cream sauce.

*Irish Chocolate Truffle Torte -A delicious brownie base topped with Irish cream and chocolate mousse.

*Fruit Salad -A light and refreshing way to end your meal.


Prices are around £16 for 2 courses, and £20 for 3.


Just checking when the Sussex / Surrey meal is, as don't want to clash with that .. so I'll sort a date out once I hear from the Surrey guys :thumbs: :)
