I remember a while back I asked you to suggest the correct chip for my set-up if I was to move to a Hybrid T25.

You said a S2 one with an uprated fuel pump too.

My question is this:

If I were to get a T25H and retain the boost @ 15psi until I got a new fuel pump and chip, would this cause any other problems with my current set-up.
I want to get the T25H installed as my stock T25 has a lot of side-to-side but with the crank/big ends getting replaced I wouldn't like to stretch to another chip and pump for a few months.

Sorry I know the most of the above is not chip related and it really belongs in the Tech S13 area. I can get it moved if necessary.

Thanks

Alan

The stg 1 chip should be fine with the T25h on lowish boost, you might have to run it at 13-14psi.

As usual, just be sure you're not getting any detonation.

I've been on two rolling roads and both said it sounded OK, if a wee bit rich fuelling at high rpm...

...however, there's a noise coming from the turbo like the sound of wind going under my bedroom door on a windy night in addition to the normal high pitch whine. Also, I've lost a few psi boost and it peaks at 15/16psi insead of the normal 18psi. Also, the car smokes badly on occasion. Why?

Probably cos the turbo is on its way out. You can check for wear fairly easily - just remove the hose between the AFM and turbo and check the turbo shaft for play. A little up and down or left and right play is ok but there shouldn't be any axial play - if there is the bearings are worn and thats why its smoking.
