It appears I have lost one of the bolts that hold the joining piece between the back of the turbo and the down pipe. How often should I check these and how tight should they be, and now wot size are they?
Has any one else had this problem?

Christ, I haven't checked there (looks as bit tricky to get to), but I have some exhaust manifold bolts RIGHT out... Looks a bit bad.. Also I have no idea if I should bother trying to remedy them myself this week in case I ruin one of them or something. Better get that seen to.

I recently took the turbo off my s13 and the bolts were M8 with 1.0 pitch. There should be three bolts and two nuts, with manual stating 22-29 Nm torque setting, but how you set this torque with the turbo on the car is a bit tricky (crow's feet adaptor's e.t.c.).
Hope this helps.

All the bolt on the exhaust side tend to get loose. When I did the manifold-turbo gasket they were all loose and the only thing holding them on the stud was the locking brackets. The bolts holding the short cast down pipe on where very loose too. So where all the cam cover screws....

Thanks Jez
I had to go to a dreaded Nissan main dealer for the parts as usual the had to order the, but the parts chap was really helpful.
The cambelt change looks fun, like Nathan_200sx says nice antique pine strut brace!!
if i drive the car with the bolt missing gently it should be ok it's only got to get 'er in doors to work until Weds.
Hopefully I should have all the parts for the upgrade hwen I return from hols so you may get a phone call if all goes bad.
