No refunds can be given unless a replacement (I shall run a 'reserves' list) can take your place.
If you do something stupid enough to get ejected from the day (apparently that takes some doing!), or your car suffers a breakdown; or you don't turn up on the day - no refund will be given.

** = prefer 'known quantities' only, i.e. mates/family of club members. Must also meet above requirement.
OK OK, I'm in, What do I do now?:
Check you meet the above requirements and are happy with the rules etc etc etc etc - you participate at your own risk and reciept of payment will be deemed to mean you have read & understand everything involved.
Send £80 per car via the club. Please add your name, username and vehicle registration details to the transaction so your details can be tied to the correct person. To pay for this event, if you can PM or e-mail I will then supply you with the clubs link to the payment page.
Once you've done that, send me a PM with ALL of the following info:
Your username
Driver's full (real) name
Make/model of vehicle
Vehicle registration
Basic vehicle specification (bhp is enough; or "BPU Supra", NA Supra, Single Turbo, etc)
Driver's approx track experience: None, beginner (limited experience), amateur (numerous tracks/days), pro (compete)
If you just want to spectate, that's cool, simply PM me and I'll add you to that list instead - just so i have an idea of number and everyone can see who's coming.
FAQ + Info Pack (attached)
Q1. What if it rains?
A1. Ensure your windows are closed to avoid getting wet?.
Drive a little slower; traction will be reduced.
Q2. Will there be any tuition available?
A2. A full safety/rules briefing will be given, so no track-day tuition is necessary for even a beginner to track their car safely.
Q3. Insurance?
A3. The track have full liability insurance for any mistake THEY make. I am told that minor damage YOU may cause to armco/walls/buildings, they 'accept' as a fact of life and let it go. However you are NOT covered for any damage YOU cause to your car or anyone else's; if this concerns you, the track recommend "Competition Car Insurance" as apparently they know the track well and usually offer a good price.
Q4. Passengers?
A4. Are allowed; they must meet the same requirements are drivers (bar the driving license), have a helmet and must also sign the indemnity form.
Passengers must be 12 or over
Q5. Alcohol allowed on site? (e.g. for those only spectating)
A5. No. A strict ban is in place.
Q6. Are cameras allowed in the cars?
A6. Yes but they must be SECURE. No hand-helds; proper camera mounts or permanent installations, only.
Q7. Is a (full) EU driving license ok?
A7. Yes.
Q8. How is the noise limit tested?
A8. Drive-by, not sure what distance.
Q9. What spec/regulation(s) do helmets need to meet?
A9. The track will allow anything that YOU think is up to the job of protecting your head in the event of a crash. Obvious sub-standard kit won't be allowed; skiiing/BMX helmets and the like for example. Overall it is YOUR responsibility to ensure YOUR headgear is up to the job. Helmets can be hired on the day for a small fee.
Q10. What about accomodation the night before?
A10. This Travelodge worked last year:http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/hotel_overview.php?hotel_id=94 It's cheap & cheerful, is on the same site as a Harvester for food/drinks, and is 1 mile from a McDonalds.
Q11: Track layout?

Q12: Info Pack?
A12: Attached.
For members wanting to attend this event, If you PM or email me I will then supply you with the link to our clubs payment page.
Thanks Gareth.

Lol,seen the light eh! :wack:
The lock on a supra is not good for angle. There is one way to do it but that means modifying the subframe so that the lower arms can be relocated and not a fun job. Don't get me wrong you can drift them but catching the spin is an absolute nightmare and with the weight of a mkiv its a case of when am I going to spin lol.
There is a PDF with further information that should be getting sorted shortly. Get involved and show the lardy Supras what you can do without a 3 piece suite resting on an iron sled ;) :D

If the lock on supras is not good for angle, then they are going to struggle with Llandow's bus stop when gripping. :D
So do we have any takers yet? :sxoc:

Will try to spectate. But may be in the process of moving. Hopefully for the last time - getting a flat in Ammanford, the landlord is my brother-in-law and I have permission to erect a sizable garage/workshop
Too close to a very important date for me to risk it :(
Well it looks like I will be there in a 200 guys, deposit taken on the supra and it is literally au revoir, Meeting the new owner at Cardiff airport Saturday and he will be driving it back to its new home in Paris.
So time to look for a replacement now.
Nevins , Has your Supra club got any members in Merthyr ??
Yes we have a few there, was it a black or silver one you saw lol.

I'd like to come. Would be my first trackday, although I have driven a single seater and caterham on a track (bet many moons ago and not like a track day).
Glad you can hire helmets on the day as I'd like to do a couple of track-days first.
How many other beginners would be there? I don't want to be the only one as I'm a wuss :wack:.
Your not the only one, so far there are quite a few, you will not be put in the same class as the more experienced but after every class has been on then, it will be come an open pit lane, so who ever wants to go on can. There will be a maximum of 10 cars on track at once.

£80 for a full day on track is a bargain
Llandow is a great track for a beginner and is enough to test an experienced driver also.
Don't forget it's not a race  you go as fast as you feel safe doing so, keep your eyes open and remember track etiquette, others will simply get on with it and will give you room to do what you wish.
Paul will be the first person to admit to not being the fastest out there BUT he has a great day and always goes home with a smile.
Im also not the fastest bloke out there BUT im working on it and this can get me in trouble sometimes, so the occasional sit down in a quiet corner is required to re compose and reflect on what happened :wack:
Im not going to intentionally put anyone around my in danger though  and im sure this is the same with everyone else that is on track (unless there is a bit of competition between two good friends that is)
I really hope i can get the car back together as im looking forward to this day
Well said above, this is a track day not a race day. There will be cars varying in power, drive type, along with drivers of all skills. Participants will be in classes, this means that at first while getting used to the track you will be with people of same skill.
No piss taking will be tolerated, as this endangers lives. After the warm up laps it then becomes an open pit event, this means anyone on track but a max of 10 a time. Everyone will receive a briefing before entering the track. Everyone will use track etiquette, this means that for the beginners it is not as frightening as you will think.
Any questions just let me know.
For the members who have paid up, if you send me your email address, I will then send you the info pack for the event.
Thanks Gareth

At the moment i have no idea of what is going to happen.
Final piece to the rebuild is the adaptor plate that Phil is sorting out for me :)
Im also awaiting delivery of a new actuator rod that Forge motor-sport are kindly sorting out for me.
With both those in stock a good 2 hours should see it rebuilt and boost mapped ready for track.
I do have a fresh pair of tyres to go on the front too but that's a 5 min job so not a concern once the car is rolling under it's own seem.
fingers crossed for you fella.
Just a reminder guys, the ryder cup kicks off this weekend so please take it into account for delays.

Avoid Newport like the plague
the worst part is going to be j24, this is where all the traffic will come to a stand still as its the junction for the ryder cup. If coming from the midl-ands area, if your coming down the m50 then after monmouth take the turning for usk go through usk and head for ponty pool and follow to cwm bran thia will bring you onto j26 and missing the traffic.

I think all the Englanders are coming down Friday afternoon and will be stopping with us lot in Swansea
Yup thats the general plan, leave work around 5 ish on Fri night, so I imagine I would get to PDH towers around 8:30 ish, if I put the hammer down. Its all well and good until that bloody bridge of yours brings the traffic to a grinding hault. :whip:
VIDAL BABBOON
28-09-2010, 23:09
There is a 50 restriction from the bridge through until Cardiff gate at present
There are also a good load of Police about on the M4 and it's bridges.
Not to mention loads of specials covering all the services and parking areas around Newport.
Basically be careful
As said above, there are average speed cameras from just before j24 up until j28. Due to the ryder cup the amount of unmarked on the road is ridiculous and the marked cars are out in force.

At present, havent they pegged that section back to 50 since the dawn of time?! :furious:
I drive through that section at 60 to 70mph all the time, which is around 4 return trips per week.... have done for past year.....
What pisses me off the most about that section ? Is the amount of retarded f**ks who think that cos it says 50mph, it means stay in lane, so the useless pr!cks stay in the 3rd lane doing 45mph causing me to overtake in a undertaking manner......
The road was placed on a 50mph due to the wear and tear, and a panel agreed that driving slower would keep the tarmac in better shape for a bit longer.....
ironically, the money spent on increasing traffic flow over the past few years which was geared towards the ryder cup, and money wasted on trying to build a relief road cutting through the docks means the 4 junction stretch has no repairs, but average speed cameras (questionable) put up instead ?
Grrrrrrr, rant over!!!!
bring on saturday (without rain!)
