Morning,
Got the ND Stage 1 Clutch installed the other week when I went off for the funky engine mods. Had a 220 mile drive back after and the clutch was generally 'ok', slipping every now and then. However it's been slipping since then too. I rang Simon who says either it's still wearing in, or there's perhaps a bit of oil weeping out from somewhere and landing in/on the clutch, which would make it slip.

Seems to slip when I've been driving for over 10 mins or so - on the way home there are two main straights and on the first one I can whack the throttle no problem, 2nd/3rd/4th/5th. After I slow down, wobble around a roundabout and drive past BAE Systems at Warton, there's another straight bit and I slip in any gear down there. It's not fun http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif
Yesterday on the way to Matt_J's I was, in all fairness, giving it 'death'. Apart from the newly found Air Horn attached to the rear left wheel, the clutch slipped like crazy after I picked up Matt and we went off to Halfords. Couldn't get any power down.

Why! Is it still wearing in, over 300 miles since being fitted, or is oil-on-clutch drama more likely? Simon said they'd have to take it all apart to get a look at it if it were as it's not apparently easy to tell.

ooh look what I found:

Im looking to see if I can find a monster type clutch that I can trash.</blockquote>

Nathan - what clutch system are you running now, and do you get any slip after, say, 5-10 mins hard driving or more?

Nd strikes again.I'm running about 220 hp at the mo. My clutch, cheapo ebc (remanufactured) from a1 motor stores £65.No slipping, works fine.

 I know it's an old 1, but to get me out of a hole, i'v got a ebc clutch to go in mine today, only cost 44.00. I'm running 226 bhp so it should be ok. I don't think i'll ever run enough power to get a upgraded 1

I'll let you all know what it's like, just in case yr ever in a hole like i was. :)

Good god, you must be sad to go back this far. Clutch died after about 15000 milles btw.

I'm at 'next' now. Engine is out and going in a kit car, dunno what clutch to put in, maybe a helix.
