TMPGENC

It's a file which converts AVI into MPEG.

Then you can just burn the MPEG onto a S/VCD!

Warning:

It's SLOW!!!

This is a VERY intense prcess, under Win98 unless you are using a P4/XP machine with plenty of RAM this could well take a couple of days!!

Virtualdub is used to "split" the audio & visual streams in an AVI file AFAIK

Virtualdub can also re-encode the video/sound streams as it goes. It shouldn't take that long (a few hours maybe) to encode unless the video is huge (screen size); My old 450mhz pc would encode dvd to divx in 6-8 hours.

Yeah, just open an avi file and then select Append Segment from the file menu.

Thanks very much everyone for their help. Virtualdub works but the film is not what it's supposed to be. Phoney film put up by somebody, Holes, does anybody know if it's any good.
