Hi,
I was along at your last RR day at Star with Tonnie (Tmollah).
I wasx wondering if I could tag along in my Civic (standard) VT.
I want to get it RR'd before I start the mods to make sure everythings ok.
Cheers,
Colin
P.S. I'll probably get Tonnie to come as well.

are you allowed to do a quick run to get power readin , then turn ur boost up and do it again to see the difference? or would that be classed as 2 runs and u would have to pay for both :-(
Im surious what the difference would be from me runnin 12psi to me runnin 14 or 15psi
That'd be counted as 2 runs :)
I was on a similar mod spec to you and got 225 @ 12 psi, I'm now on 15, so you could just go on after me if you like ;)
As kev was telling me all day, "go on and turn it up you wimp!"
seriously tho there's quite a big difference between 12 and 15 psi
:D
id be up for it if thats ok ?
providing my car is running ok that is hopefully find out soon though
strathclyde autotune are in Irvine. I was there a few months back. seems quite good. I liked my 167hp

Dunc.
mmmm 180hp hard to come by in the punto without braking it. needs hybrid T25, FMIC, uprated fuel pump, FSE and mapping. standard fuel pump can't handle more than what I'm trying to shove through the injectors really.
here is my graph from S.A.T
power @ fly
torque
boost
are on the left axis
power @ wheels in on right.
I also have the lambda graph as well

Looks like they've got pretty good equipment IMO.
they do UNICHIP's and the guy that runs the place Henry is a decent bloke
I'm interested. Can they check for det as well?

Hi,
the dyno we use (Strathclyde Auto Clinic is the garage, JapPerformance is the business) is a 2wd Hofmann using TAT data aquisition software calibrated to DIN. It is the most sophisticated 2wd dyno on the market today, and can directly calculate transmission loss.
we can also provide you with the fueling curve so you can see exactly where you are running lean/rich etc
you guys are free to have you rr day anytime you wish during August. Just let me know.

Ok boys, and michael, can i provisionally suggest the 17th of August?
its a sunday, as thats when Jap performance can fit us in.
so pls just a yeah or naw to whether u can make 17th august, and if ur gonna come.
Critchie, id prefer it was an sx first rr day, but im sure we wont get 20 sx's to run so as long as u dont mind filling in numbers?sure mate, y not, mad K of course.

Im on holiday that week. sunday to sunday
Off work the week after though.
I may pop down and get a rr done before that, to see what its runnin just now with the mods.
Then maybe turn up boost for that next one in august if u change the date. Prob the end of august. Which is even further away :(

you will get several runs each, not just the one.
you'll also get a chance to see my Turbo Integra Type-R ;)
was running at 260bhp at 5psi until I blew the head gasket. Compression was too high.
will be fitting new internals when my stuff arrives (hopefully next week), and up the boost to 18psi :D

P.S. Anyone know where I can get a mild steel de-cat made up?
Powerflow want £120 to cut the flanges off my cat and weld them on to a stainless section (although I would be happy with mild steel). Im sure it can't be that labour intensive, can it?
Possible anyone half decent with a welder could do it..........
Anyway, enough about cars... I hear people at work talking about internet abuse!:(
Thanks,

Can't visualize the shape of the cat pipe, but can't u just remove the cat and 'smash' the cat to bits. I was gonna do that with my motor!
I may pop through to the meet if I'm allowed. (Kev:notworthy ??) No point in running me motor unless anyone wants a laugh. Mind you, I could carry out my sophisticated decat mod and see what it does then!
Considering the cost of a replacement CAT, this is a really dumb way to de-CAT your car :(
The Scorpion sounds like a good buy for £62.

It seems cheap, all depends if you have the funds to throw around. As the price was a bit of an issue, just thought I would give that little suggestion.
Price aint really an issue. I just dont like getting bumped....and I feel that £62 is a bit steep for a 40cm bit of mild steel!

Just go along to yer local welders, they should do you a mild steel one for £30-£40, that's what I did ;) .
J
Jason, its worth noting that no S13 needts a cat for Mot, so it would be no loss for dundee guy to do this, although possibly not a great idea for Colin.
Ray, sure mate, Kev, yeah course as long as u remember to imitate that smiley in front of me ;), once we are decided ill put up a seperate post with a poll.

He means come MOT time. It may struggle to pass the emmisions test. Depens what year etc etc your motor is.
Or just sweet talk the tester :D No, I've never done this on an MOT before
Me cars a 91.... Its the last of the old gen4 civics.
Its a pretty rare model apparently, cause its a Vtec.
I though it was ok to have no CAT on post '91 cars?
Or do they still take emissions into account?

Bin the cat without fear
Yeh i thought so!
Not sure what to expect though....
With any luck my de-cat, pipercross replacement element and cold air feed (another 1!) will be here tomorrow so I can get everything fitted for Crail!!!
The plan is to keep it as standard looking as i can.... to loor in some unsuspecting novas.... corsas etc!
Think a replacement element is a better idea, as civics are notorious for hot engine bays! :( Thus why Im sticking in another feed to keep things nice and cool.
Pay day in a week... hmmm..... what mods can i do now?
Think I better save for another month and get the other 1/2 of my install sorted..... I'll see if im pleased with the de-cat though!
Colin
Hi mate, i got my car de-catted for £40, basically the guy cut the cat section out and made up a bolt in section so come m.o.t. time i can bolt in the cat again if i need it although i've heard i don't.
That was at McConechies (i think that's the right spelling) in Bishopbriggs, but if you go to your local garage or any good welder it should cost about the same, hope this helps, Nobby.
Michael i reckon we agreed on the 24th cos no-ones objevted to that.

Sorry guys but its been cancelled!
The reason for this is that i got a PM from Michael a few days ago saying that all money had to be payed up front by the next day.
I was not informed of this b4, so was not prepared for it.
I have been to a few rolling roads b4 and never been asked to pay upfront and was a bit concerened.
Basically i dont have the money to pay it up front, but if i did im not too sure i would pay it anyway as i dont like the way it went down to be honest.
I dont want to slag of any people or companies on an open forum so i will say no more.
Another rolling road day will be arranged in the not too distant future guys.
sorry to muck u all about, but those of u who know me should know that i wouldnt muck u about intentionally.
lastly sorry for leaving it so very late to cancel as i know a few of u had arranged for friends etc to bring along to make up the numbers, and i appreciate this makes peeps look a bit silly.
I can only promise that this sort of thing will not happen again as all information will be aquired on the rr place and their system so things like this are not sprung on us last minute as its happened now.
Kev
Fair enough Kev

Not slagging anyone off, but if you can't provide enough interested persons to take part, how do you suppose to make it viable.
To be honest, this event has had very little interest from you guys, and to be fair you can't blame Michael for cancelling it, after all they at least have to cover the staff wages for the day. You only had about 10 persons to begin with, and I am sure it was explained what the costing would be depending on the number of cars running.
I'm certain if you want to arrange another day at SAC you will be more than welcome, you just need to ensure you have suitable numbers.

So Star could be a better choice (from my point of view)

Jason, the reason this was cancelled was nothing to do with numbers, we were given 1 day to pay, now if this was normal we wouldn't have minded but when we are the first club to be asked to pay up front and given a days notice to do so, it seems a little unfair, surely if the money was needed that should have been asked for weeks ago when this was first mentioned, we understand that Micheal had nothing to do with the money up front and he seemed alittle unsure why we've been asked and no other club has.
You don't pay a garage for work done up front and why should this be any different?
Martin

Sounds like a fun car - did he get a rev.3 MR2 Turbo? If so then he's gonna be around the 300BHP mark if running standard car + NOS.
just exactly what Dobergoose said.
And it was me that cancelled it, not Michael.

We wouldn't stoop that low!
Anyway, I never get through to the monthly meetings so I decide on this and it goes pear shaped  At least I can plan a long lie in now
