How does Edit work??

Bit confused..... Put a post up, saw it had a mistake in, so edited it and (being well mannered ;) ) put in an explanation as to why I'd edited it......then it came up in preview and there was no mention of any editing by me :confused: so I deleted all references to me having edited it in the first place and re-posted :D

Just wondering why it never registered as me having edited it in the first place - is there a time cut-off sorta thing??

I think it only says yu've edited it if someone else reads the original message before you edit it :)

There's a (I think) 5 minute window after putting a post up in which any changes to the post don't show up as an 'edit'.
