View Full Version : Got pulled for the first time ever..
Had been to Nottingham to see my favourite band in the entire world (and you won't have heard of them, so.. ), spent two hours driving home, and was literally two minutes from home..
Got pulled for jumping a red light and excessive speed.
I'd come off the slip-road from the A627(M) to the roundabout, and had reached it just as the lights began to change, so rather than brake heavily, I went..
.. turns out there was a Plod landrover sitting at the lights on the roundabout.. Oops..
Let off with a talking to, I think he twigged the fact that (upon explaining I'd just driven from Nottingham) that I was tired, and just wanted to go home.
The end.
Lucky break, I reckon, mate :D Well done though :D
Go on then, what was the band you'd been to see? :D (and no, I won't have heard of them :| )
Ohh, and where are the excuses for the Longwell Green meet that you promised you'd make? :D Would be nice to see you again....but I can't make another one till Sept iirc - are you free then? lol
Yep, very lucky, thankfully. In truth, yeah I jumped the light (It changed the millisecond before I got there) and I hit 50 on a 40 to overtake someone before a dual carriageway turned to single.
The band = Pedro The Lion
Seeing them again on Monday :D
Aaaaaaaaaand Longwell.. = Billing? ;)
that sucks, on my test I was "faulted" for braking heavily at traffic lights, and was told that "its better" to go through the amber than slam on the brakes as you could cause an accident behind you.

Although technically I think you are supposed to slow down as you approach a green light in preparation that it may change!
How many people really drive like that?

They like to do that in Northampton, I must admit. And leicester too. I had to weave through traffic to escape a curious copper just the other week...

I once drove one of my cars without tax.........
With my insurance documents, £155, MOT, renewal reminder on the way th the post office.
They had shut early though:mad:
You're a luck lad D :)
But then you do drive a non threatening car so maybe that's why they let you off. Anyway good on plod on this occasion.
Am aware of this, JB. And thanking lucky stars :)
Still quite.. intimidated by the fact they had three plod transit vans parked on the other side of the road, all with blues going, within thirty seconds of me being pulled..
