Saab smells

A family member's saab 9-3 has started to smell really badly in the cabin.

There was also a fair amount of water collecting in the spare wheel well too.

If it is just the smell of damp whats the best way of removing it? Tried drying it out, fabreezing it and driving at 100leptons with the windows down. Still smells.
Suppose it doesn't help that the air-con seems not to be working either. Doesn't air-con dry the air too as it processes it? Maybe that's the seat of the problem

Not the aircon is it?? clean the pollen filter?

The aircon in my mates 93 stank to high heaven the first time he used it this summer (...must be run for twenty minutes each week :rolleyes: ) that smelt damp but was just the gas getting (stagnant?)

If it is just water then you can rent industrial dryers from hire shops.
