View Full Version : hmmm, traitorous, but advice needed
yep, you could call me a traitor if you want, for i have sold my lovely s13, it went yesterday.... however to redeem myself i asked the new owner to join this forum.
what i am after is any links to buying guides for 300zx's and a link to a decent forum for them too, i looked on one that was
www.300zx.co.uk and it looked garbage, not even 1,480 members, and 18 currently active users (one of whom was jezz_s13!!!!!!)
it might be ok but then again there could be better, unless u wanna open a 300zx part in this forum(!)

hear hear, lardy pieces of shite.
Yeah I hang around over there (I'm even a paid up member) a fair bit, I like to watch fights and fuel them. I have no intention of getting one, let me just make that clear LOL. :D
perhaps do a search over there, as like here people ask all the time, infact there was a spate of such threads over the last 2-3 weeks.
is this the site that always gets mentioned on here for all the cat-fighting that goes on????
out come the claws ready for some good barneys!!!

I work at a Nissan main dealer . . . .
I've NEVER seen a 300ZX come in for ANYTHING and go out again the same day!!!
They are always lingering around the shop, with bills totting up to 4 figures!!!
but thats because you work at a NISSAN MAIN DEALER !!!!!
no car ever comes back out in a day with a bill less than half the value of the car!!!
They come the jap car meets and they don't half have trouble getting started lol.
Get a twin turbo supra or summit but jesus mate save yourself the heartache of a ZX.
unless your minted of course.
they are a pretty phenomenal car tho when tuned ;)
ask "crazyeddie" - he has a twin tub zx and an s13. He also has massive repair bills so he will be able to advise you lol

We see loads of 200SX's and they usually go in and come out in a day!! Plus the bills VERY rarely meet 4 figures!!
We had a guys S13 here for like 5 weeks, he was trying to source a CAS so we just stored it for him. He had about 15 hours work on the car in diagnosing the problems and fitting new parts. It had new plugs & pads etc and the bill was like £400!!!
ABBA wrote a song about the service and maintenance costs, goes something like"money, money, money......."
:D

My Dad has a Z and it's running costs aren't that bad. :) If you like it, go for it, but treat it with TLC.
i dont want one to have to treat it with tlc though, although it would probably only do 100miles a month, i want to be able to kick its arse, might as well have a bloody skoda if i had to drive like grandaddyo!!!!!
i know what youre saying though:thumbs:

I wanted one not so long ago... i test drove a few and they were sheds so i walked away and bought another 200 instead. If i'd found a good one i might think differently though they still seemed WAAAAYY too big and heavy for my tastes.
Also... I didn't fancy the idea of having to remove the engine to swap a turbo...

Its very easy to rack up big bills on labour when almost any problem involves the lump coming out :( Also, IMO they dont look a very good car unless they have a supersplendido fantastico bodykit on em which costs a fortune.
And, who do you get to work on the fcuker?! there's only one place i know of and they a) aint cheap and b) well, lets leave it there
i know someone who has worked on them in the past, and still does, as well as loads of other performance vehicles, he did my cambelt and the other belts for £70 which i didnt think was too expensive, seeing as how i'd paid £80 elswhere and the nuggets had put the belt on a tooth out!!!!
so i'm not too worried about finding somewhere to fix and service etc, just dont want it to have to be a regular occurance:thumbs:
its gotta be the same as most other cars though surely, if its looked after and regularly serviced it'll be fine??? (just a bit more expensive than other cars!!!)
just gotta make sure i dont buy a dog!

well yeah there is that.... but there aint many "nondogs" out there and the ones there are selll for big money - and im not sure the car itself is worth the big money they command.
Hoooooweever, CrazyEddie's zed is just pure madness:cool: But then with like 400bhp what do you expect ;)

Buy a Supra.
Just as expensive but generally much more reliable. IMO. :)
Look nicer too. Also, IMO.
