Fuel pump control box bypass

Car is feeling very flat under load and hesitiating badly between 2-3k rpm. I have replaced the fuel pump which seemed to improve things for a short while but now its back to its old ways, only worse. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to bypass the pump speed controller unit under the speaker shelf as I'm starting to suspect that may be at fault. I know one of the wires from the top of the pump can be run direct to earth but I dont know which one. Can I not just rip the box out and tie some wires together ?

Figured it out. Not the problem though as car still hesitates :(.
